How does GnuCash work?
GnuCash is a free programme that uses accountancy principles to balance your books and offer reports on your financial position.
Every transaction you enter must debit one account and credit another. The software also offers reminders and reconciliation features to help you keep on top of your incomings and outgoings.
It's bread-and-butter budgeting, so if you're looking for something that can offer more analysis of your financial position or future plans, you might want to consider other programmes like You Need A Budget or Buxfer.
This is the first time we've tested the software - read on to find out how we rate it.
