Green Network Energy
Green Network Energy is an Italian company with a bilingual call centre and website. But is it the best energy firm for you?
Green Network Energy began supplying customers in the UK in 2016. Originally an Italian start-up, it aimed to gain customers who were Italian expats. Both its website and call-centre are bilingual.
The firm said it set itself the challenge of bringing a ‘little Italian flavour’ to the GB energy market.
Its deals include ‘family’ tariffs, which it says are designed for high energy users, and 100% renewable electricity tariffs. It also invests in renewable generation, including solar panels and biogas in Italy.

Which? verdict on Green Network Energy
It’s the first year we’ve received enough responses from Green Network Energy's customers to include it in our energy survey.
We received enough responses to rate its bills, customer service, how it helps customers understand their energy use and value for money. There were too few responses for us to give it a rating for complaints handling.
Green Network Energy's customers rated it a good four out of five stars for all of the measures we could rate it for, bar one. It received three stars out of five for helping its customers to understand and reduce energy use.
Customer service is an important factor, besides price, for customers looking for a new energy firm. We received some positive feedback about Green Network Energy’s phone customer service.
However, our snapshot call waiting investigation in September and October 2018 found that it was far from speedy to pick up the phone. When we phoned, it took 13 minutes 59 seconds to speak to a human on average. The fastest firm managed 10 seconds.
Plus it was the slowest firm included in our research to answer customers' emails. It took more than 11 days, on average, to get an email response.
Customers were least impressed with Green Network Energy’s efforts to help them understand and reduce their energy use. This was the only area for which the firm did not score four stars out of five. The best firm in our survey received a five-star rating, while the worst scored only one star.
Pros: Customers are generally positive about its service
Cons: Slow to answer the phone and emails
