Like so many of its crossover rivals, the second-generation Honda HR-V (2015-) is based on the underpinnings of a small hatchback - in this case the new Honda Jazz. Sitting below the larger CR-V, this new compact SUV model is available with either a 1.6-litre diesel or a 1.5-litre petrol, and the choice of six-speed manual or CVT automatic transmissions (petrol only). However, it forgoes four-wheel-drive in the name of greater efficiency.
