SSE's cheapest fibre broadband deal now includes a £50 gift card

£50 can be redeemed as a Prepaid Mastercard or as an Amazon Gift Card for a limited time

SSE has recently launched its latest broadband deal, exclusive to Which? Switch Broadband, adding a £50 gift card to its already cheap Unlimited Fibre deal.

SSE may be better known as an energy provider but its broadband packages have always been competitive.

From this week and until 11 August, it is offering a £50 gift card on its Unlimited Fibre package, which offers average speeds of 35Mbps and costs £23 a month - making it one of the cheapest fibre packages currently available. The £50 gift can be redeemed as an Amazon gift card or a prepaid Mastercard.

Unlimited Fibre also comes with no price hikes during the 18-month contract and a 60-day no exit-fee 'Happiness Guarantee'. This means that if you're not completely satisfied with the service, and SSE has been unable to fix the problem, you're free to leave without a penalty charge.

Is Fibre broadband right for me?

Prices on fibre broadband have dropped dramatically, and the £23 per month you'd pay on SSE's latest deal is not much more than you'd pay for some standard broadband contracts.

As well as faster speeds capable of keeping up with the demands of modern connected households, fibre broadband is more reliable - so you'd expect to have fewer issues with unstable or inconsistent connections.

Many consumers are still hesitant to take the plunge, though. We asked 3,000 people why they're sticking with regular broadband, and look at whether their reasons stack up.
