It's been mandatory since 2017 for all UK organisations with 250 or more employees to publish and report specific figures about their gender pay gap.
The figures must be calculated using a specific reference date – the ‘snapshot date’ – each year. For business and charities this date is 5 April.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Gender Pay Gap Reporting requirements for employers were suspended entirely for the 2019/20 reporting year. Therefore, Which? did not publish it's report for the snapshot of 5 April 2019. For the 2020/21 reporting, which publishes pay data based on the snapshot date of 5 April 2020, the government extended the deadline for employers to publish the report to 5 October 2021.
Our report explains the gender pay gap at Which? in more detail and how we are taking every step to further reduce this.
