The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) says credit card firms must offer payment help to support borrowers struggling financially because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Some credit card firms are also offering to increase limits and waive charges in a bid to help ease the financial hardship the pandemic has caused.

What do John Lewis credit cards offer? 

Unlike many other providers, John Lewis only offers one credit card, but it packs a punch.

The John Lewis Partnership Card offers reward points on spending, plus 18 months' 0% on balance transfers and nine months' 0% on purchases.

How does John Lewis compare to other providers?

John Lewis was the most highly rated provider in the 2020 credit card satisfaction survey.

Customers gave it a score of 83% - well above average - but the card didn’t meet the benchmarks set in our product analysis to secure Which? Recommended Provider status.

How we calculate John Lewis’s customer score and ratings

We pick credit cards to feature in Which? brand reviews based on the most popular brands searched for online.

Customer scores are based on an online survey of the public, which received 6,537 responses in total. They are calculated using a combination of overall satisfaction and the likelihood of recommending the provider to a friend.

Star ratings for each category are scored independently of the customer score.

These surveys are carried out annually and customer scores are updated accordingly. Providers must receive a minimum sample size of 30 respondents to be included in our customer satisfaction tables.
