Cewe photo book

Pick up a book from Cewe
We like Lots of customisation options
We don't like Paper prone to scratching
Sure, you could post a cute carousel on Instagram, but putting together pictures of your favourite memories and having them printed in a small book is sure to be the sweeter gesture.
There are lots of options including size, details and covers. You can get a small square hardcover picture book with with 80 photos for £17.98.

The Flat Lay Co. Open Flat Make-up Bag

My other half uses this velvet make-up bag for travelling with. It saves her from digging around for a specific product and folds up neatly to protect your make-up. Plus, it's machine washable.
We like Lots of designs and colours to choose from
Watch out for A drawer-style organiser might be the better option if your partner has lots of make-up
This make-up bag opens up, meaning your partner won't need to rummage or reorganise each time they want to put their face on. It has several elastic holders and small compartments to help keep any essentials especially organised.
It's great for travel, as It opens up into a 52cm-diameter cosmetics mat while being just 18cm when shut.
A bottle of Best Buy wine or champagne

We've uncovered Best Buy and Great Value bottles from no less than eight supermarkets this year, so there's no shortage of options if you're on a last-minute wine mission.
We like Great-tasting bottles for less than £15
Watch out for May be out of stock in your local supermarket
You might be amazed at what you can get for under a tenner.
Our expert taste tests have found supermarket bottles that blow luxury brands out of the water, so picking up a few for someone is sure to make a great gift.
If you're looking for a little something extra to give, it's also worth popping into your local charity shops to look for some fun glassware they can serve their gift in.
You can read our guides on the best sparkling wines, best red wines and best champagnes to help pick a bottle. You can pick up these bottles from supermarkets including Sainsbury's, Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Waitrose, Lidl or Aldi.
ASAKUKI Oil Diffuser

A diffuser bundled with a selection of scents is a simple way to create a calming atmosphere while keeping your home smelling fresh. With affordable multipacks on offer (often around £10 for a pack of five mini bottles), it’s easy to swap fragrances to suit your mood or the season. A touch of cinnamon or spiced orange would be perfect for colder months.
We like Budget-friendly
Watch out for Adding too much essential oil to the water tank can make scents overwhelming
It's not to say that their room is smelly, but it might be nice to change it up without spending heaps on diffuser sets. To use this, all your recipient will need to do is fill the base with water, add a few drops of oil and switch it on.
Your recipient can set the LED lights to different colours to match certain moods, and if you're struggling to pick out essential oils, you can get it bundled with eight different scents.
Dart board and darts set

Darts is a really fun and hilarious activity (depending on your skill level) to try at home. A board and a set of darts can start from just £20, and my partner and I have spent many evenings playing and laughing at some of our attempted throws. I've also discovered you can buy cheap padding to protect your walls, which has been useful.
We like Fun to do together
Watch out for Holes in the wall
It's a bit of a wildcard, but a set of darts and a board could be a fun, cheap at-home date night. There are several games like 501 or 'around the clock' that you can play, too.
Just be mindful of where you hang it – you might also want to pick up some cheap wall padding so you're not doing any unintentional DIY when you miss a throw.
Loop Quiet 2 earplugs

Buy these direct from Loop (£19.95), or compare prices below:
We like Made of silicone
We don't like 24dB noise reduction might not blot out everything
If you're a snorer, these earplugs could be a nice gift to give your partner as a slight apology for any restless nights.
While there are other models available, these ones are made from a soft silicone that should be bit more comfortable to sleep on your side with.
Compare the best ear plugs for sleeping.
It might also be worth picking up one of the best eye masks for sleep, while you're at it.

- Ticket to Ride: London – our experts had an easy time picking up this board game but had a hard time putting it down. You'll be building London bus routes, and it takes half the time of a regular game of Ticket to Ride. It's SQUIRREL_TEXT_50010014. If you want something a bit more personal, you can also splash out to pick up a personalised Monopoly board featuring all of your favourite spots, or places that are important to both of you. You can find them from sites like Etsy.
- Check out your local florists – instead of ordering online, why not support your local florist and pick up some Valentine's Day roses from them?
- Make a trinket out of air-dried clay – It might be a bit fiddly, but you can easily make things like trinket dishes, a statuette, or a candle holder using a pack of air-dry clay. Once it's dry, you can paint and varnish according to the instructions. You can get packs of air-dry clay and paint from retailers like Amazon or Hobbycraft.
- Homemade crossword puzzle – Instead of buying a gift, you could instead make a crossword puzzle using inside jokes, where you had your first date, trivia about each other, and much more. You can make easily some using tools like Puzzel.org.

Carcassonne Board Game

We like Expansions available if you're looking to spice things up
We don't like Lots of small pieces
Looking for a new date night idea? Board games are a great activity to do together without breaking the bank. In this game, you'll construct medieval castles, towns and more to score points.
Our testers really enjoyed playing it – they found it easy to pick up, but complex enough to stay interesting. It takes about 45 minutes to play each game.
If you want more suggestions, read our guide on the best board games.
Darn Tough socks

Buy a variety of socks direct from Darn Tough, or compare prices on a typical pair below:
I got gifted a few pairs of these back in 2013 – they definitely live up to the name, because I have yet to find any holes after over a decade of use and abuse.
We like Lots of colours and patterns
Watch out for They're not cheap – £25+ per pair
While socks are usually reserved for Christmas, we think that these pairs are great to give this Valentine's day. If your partner loves hiking or constantly struggles with holes in their socks, these may be the pair that last a lifetime.
They're nylon-reinforced, which Darn Tough claims won't wear easily. Even if they do get a hole in them, they come with a lifetime warranty. Darn Tough will send a replacement pair for free when provided with proof of purchase. Read the full terms from Darn Tough for more info.
Lego Botanicals sets

Finding the time to sit and build Lego is a great way to spend time together on a rainy weekend afternoon. Whether you enjoy a quiet few hours in each other’s company, or it sparks a lifelong joint hobby, just try not to argue over who gets to fit the last piece!
We like Nice to build together
Watch out for Small pieces can easily be misplaced
These bricky floral sets are a very popular gift, and there's a wide variety of plants, flowers, succulents and seasonal sets you can choose from.
The larger sets can make for a nice, relaxing activity for you and your partner to complete together, and you can often find deals on several sets from third-party retailers – especially if you keep up with our page on the best Lego deals.
Check out the full range from Lego.

Guinness Nitrosurge and cans

The Guinness Nitrosurge was the perfect gift for my boyfriend – he loves it! It’s a handheld gadget that uses ultrasonic technology to create the perfect creamy Guinness pour at home. You need special Nitrosurge cans, and apparently, it tastes even better from a proper Guinness glass. With the current Guinness shortage in pubs, this makes it easier to enjoy a proper pint from home.
We like 'Pub-quality' Guinness at home
Watch out for More expensive than the regular cans
If your partner has been missing out during the current Guinness shortage, this brings pints of the good stuff home.
All your other half will need to do is open a can of Nitrosurge Guinness, line up the device's nozzle with the can opening, attach and activate the device, and do the two-stage pour.
You can pick up the cans from supermarkets like Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda, or compare prices below:
Vocal-Star VS-275 Karaoke Machine

We like One of the most budget-friendly options
We don't like Noise complaints
Want to sing karaoke but don't want to shell out hundreds of pounds for a private room or be forced to perform for a multitude of strangers at the pub? With this machine, you can do it from home. It's an excellent date night or party idea.
Connect your phones to it via Bluetooth to open up a wide range of songs for you both to sing. We'd recommend looking out for karaoke versions of songs on YouTube.
This one comes with two microphones, making romantic duets not only possible – but encouraged. It can also record your singing, allowing you both to relive (or regret) your greatest hits.

LSA Borough wine glasses

Pick up a set of four from LSA International (£50), or compare prices below:
When we run our wine taste tests, our experts have shared insights about the importance of a decent wine glass, and the difference it can make to the taste and your drinking experience. So it’s worth investing in a good set to get the best from your wine.
We like Wide bowls can help unlock different aromas
Watch out for Thin stems may not be for everyone
Lacking some fancy glasses for that big Valentine's dinner you're planning on cooking? If you're not too interested in getting wine-specific glassware, this set is a good all-rounder option for a wide variety of wines.
They're even dishwasher safe, which makes cleaning them significantly easier.
This always goes well with a bottle of wine. Read up on the results of our testing on the best red wines, or the best white wines.
A Which? membership

We like Everything!
We don't like Waiting with anticipation for the next issue to drop through the letterbox
Does your partner want to get into gardening but doesn't know where to begin? Would you both like to travel more but are struggling to agree on destinations? Are you moving in together and need to get new appliances? Or are you thinking of starting a family together and want advice?
A Which? subscription might not be the sexiest Valentine's Day gift, but our expert advice can help you and your partner plan better holidays, save money on brilliant products, plan for a family, set up a garden, and much, much more.
Plus, you'll be helping support our charitable mission to protect UK consumers.
You can gift a subscription through our online tool.
iFly indoor skydiving

Not being the adventurous type who would happily strap on a parachute and launch myself out of a plane, this may be the closest I ever come to flying. And the faces you’ll pull while being buffeted by the wind will make for priceless photo memories that will last a lifetime!
We like The thrill without the danger
Watch out for Lacks the good views, unless you shell out extra for VR
If you're looking for a bit of an adrenaline rush this Valentine's Day, indoor skydiving could be a great activity for you and your partner to experience together. Instead of leaping out of a plane, you'll be 'flying' in a wind tunnel. Flights start from £49.99 per person for two flights.
While it's simulating the experience of falling through the air, you won't get the amazing views typically associated with skydiving – you can book a session that has you wearing a VR headset, but that costs extra.
You can book a session or vouchers from iFly.
Best Valentine's Day gifts – blow the budget
If you're looking to spend a bit more (maybe on a gift you'll both use a lot), we've covered some good options for more pricey gifts.
A National Art Fund pass

We like Free and discounted access to hundreds of locations and exhibits
Watch out for Paying for a one-off year is more expensive
If you're looking to get out of the house more and get some culture into your lives, a joint National Art Pass is a great way to get free or discounted entry on hundreds of locations across the UK. You'll also get special offers at some museum shops and cafes.
It's not just galleries either; there is free access to castles, gardens, parks, estates and much more. A joint pass includes two cards for two adults living at the same address and costs £93 a year (when you pay by direct debit).
You can get a membership from the Art Fund.
Celestron Nature DX 10x42 Binoculars

We like Water-resistant and 10-year warranty
We don't like Not cheap
If you both like to go bird watching or enjoy checking out the local wildlife from your windows, these binoculars make a great gift.
They weigh 629g and offer a field of view of 101 metres when viewing at 1,000 metres. They're also tripod-mountable, and were among the cheaper binoculars we tested.
You can read our full review in our guide on the best binoculars.
Anker Nebula Mars 3 Portable Projector

We like Great for movie dates
We don't like Cheaper than some Best Buy TVs, but still pretty expensive
If you're looking to upgrade your movie dates without dropping thousands on a new TV, this projector is a great way to get a large screen anywhere. You can connect it through HDMI and USB-C, or you can stream from a range of services if you log into your Google account.
This portable model doesn't need to be plugged in all the time either, so you can easily take it on holidays or set it up wherever you'd like. Anker claims you can watch up to two and a half hours of films from a full charge.
