The impressive result has seen the brand jump up the rankings, to secure joint 10th place this year.

How we calculate MBNA’s customer score and ratings

We pick credit cards to feature in Which? brand reviews based on the most popular brands searched for online.

Customer scores are based on an online survey of the public, which received 5,621 responses in total. They are calculated using a combination of overall satisfaction and the likelihood of recommending the provider to a friend.

Star ratings for each category are scored independently of the customer score.

These surveys are carried out annually and customer scores are updated accordingly. Providers must receive a minimum sample size of 30 respondents to be included in our customer satisfaction tables.

Where are MBNA credit cards accepted?

 

MBNA credit cards are issued on the Mastercard network, so can be used in millions of places in the UK and around the world.

 

Does Lloyds own MBNA?

 

Lloyds Banking Group took over MBNA in 2017.

However, there were no changes for customers and the two brands remain distinct from each other. You can still transfer balances from MBNA cards to any existing Lloyds Banking Group brand (including Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank).
