What makes Which? deals different?

Retailers sometimes use misleading ‘was’ and ‘before’ prices to claim their deals are good. Media sites and artificial intelligence (AI) promote deals from retailers – but do they always check/verify them first? We don’t just take retailers’ word for it, we track actual market prices over six months. We share cheapest and average calculations and evaluate products against strict performance benchmarks. So you get good quality at honest prices.

*References to ‘average price' and 'cheapest price' are based on Which? market knowledge and information supplied by our partners. Prices are checked for the six calendar months prior to publication. Not all retailers are included in our checks.

Best fridge freezer deals for May 2026

The fridge freezers we've selected here are all decent models that scored reasonably well in our tests. We only recommend appliances with average or above-average scores for energy efficiency, because we don't consider models with excessively high running costs for their size and type to be genuine bargains.

You'll have to read our reviews to find out which of the models we've recommended are Best Buys – the very best on test.

Our pick: Kenwood KNF55XD23

Average price in the past six months: £398
Cheapest price in the past six months: £329*

Kenwood KNF55XD23 fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • Silver

We like: It's quiet

We don’t like: The the numbers on the temperature panel quite small and hard to read

The Kenwood KNF55XD23 is a frost-free fridge freezer, with a fast chill function and adjustable shelves for accommodating larger items and up to 10 bags of shopping.

The doors can be hinged on the right or left, whatever suits your kitchen layout best. It’s a frost-free fridge freezer, as most (but not all) are these days, so you should never have to defrost it yourself. The fridge section has three shelves and a salad crisper drawer, and the freezer has four drawers.

Many fridge freezers have an alarm that sounds if the door is left open, to avoid excessive warm air coming in and increasing the inside temperature. This one doesn’t, so you’ll need to take a bit more care and make sure that you’ve shut it properly.

Does it chill and freeze to perfection? Read our full Kenwood KNF55XD23 review to find out.

Freestanding fridge freezer deals

TCL RP282BXE0UK

Average price in the past six months: £364
Cheapest price in the past six months: £319*

TCL RP282BXE0UK fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • Stainless steel

We like: The freezer is very easy to clean

We don’t like: The vegetable drawer is poor

The TCL RP282BXE0UK is a freestanding fridge freezer with a stainless steel finish. The fridge sits at the top, with a three-drawer freezer underneath. There’s also a touchscreen display on the front, meaning it’s easy to make adjustments without opening the door. It has a child lock function to prevent inquisitive fingers from changing settings inadvertently.

It has a reasonable capacity – we were able to fit 11 supermarket carrier bags of groceries inside. The doors are reversible, so you can adapt the way they open to suit your kitchen layout.

There are fast-freeze and super-cool functions, which are handy if you have a large amount of fresh food to store, plus there’s a door alarm on the fridge section, which will alert you if you leave it open. Disappointingly, there’s no comparable one on the freezer.

How well does it preserve your food, and how much will it cost to run? Read our TCL RP282BXE0UK review to find out.

Hoover HONCQ2T618CWK

Average price in the past six months: £500
Cheapest price in the past six months: £449*

Hoover HONCQ2T618CWK fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • White

We like: Not as deep as some for easier access

We don’t like: Inflexible shelf positioning

Hoover says this appliance is ‘your everyday partner in having fresh food whenever you need it.’

The fridge has four shelves, two full-width and two half-width door racks and a drawer. This drawer is called the Fresh 0°C Area, and you can adjust its temperature to your needs – the 0°C mode is ideal for fish and meat. The height of the shelves can be adjusted to fit your storage needs. There are three drawers in the freezer below.

It has a 70/30 split between the fridge and freezer. Hoover claims this model ‘offers you the space to store up to 18 grocery bags’. However, we found that a capacity of 13 grocery bags was more realistic, which is about right for a household of three or four people. And, unlike many models, there are no fast-freeze or super-cool functions to help speed up chilling.

Explore its pros and cons in our full Hoover HONCQ2T618CWK review.

LG GBBSJ10DEP

Average price in the past six months: £534
Cheapest price in the past six months: £449*

LG GBBSJ10DEP fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • Silver or Black

We like: The clearly audible door alarm

We don’t like: Access to some drawers is limited

A freestanding silver fridge freezer from LG, which claims that the inverter compressor in this model ‘checks actual demand and supplies optimum amounts of cooling’.

The doors are reversible to fit your kitchen space. It has three shelves, three door racks and two fruit and vegetable drawers in the fridge. There are three more drawers in the freezer.

Fast-freeze and super-cool functions help to rapidly cool new additions. This is a smart appliance that can be controlled using the LG ThinQ app on Android or iOS.

Haier HTW3618EWPB

Average price in the past six months: £617
Cheapest price in the past six months: £549*

Haier HTW3618EWPB fridge freezer

Buy it for £570 from Costco (membership fees and conditions apply) or see the deal below.

  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • Black

We like: The fridge door alarm works well

We don’t like: The door is not reversible

This freestanding fridge freezer has a 65/35 split between the fridge and freezer, respectively. Wi-fi connectivity means you can control functions, including setting the internal temperature, with the hOn app. It also has a water dispenser for quick cold drinks without opening the fridge door. This uses a built-in tank that needs regular refilling, but doesn’t need to be plumbed into the mains water supply.

It has four shelves, three door racks, a chill drawer and a crisper drawer in the fridge, plus two more drawers and a tray in the freezer. The My Zone chill drawer lets you set the temperature between -3°C and +5°C, which is perfect for meat or cheese.

Fast-freeze and super-cool functions help to rapidly chill new additions. The Total Frost Free freezer means no ice build-up and less maintenance.

Find out if it's worth the trek to check it out at your local Costco in our full Haier HTW3618EWPB review.

Bosch KGN392WDFG

Average price in the past six months: £758
Cheapest price in the past six months: £659*

Bosch KGN392WDFG fridge freezer
  • Freestanding
  • Frost-free freezer
  • White

We like: It runs quietly

We don’t like: It can be hard to reach the controls

The Bosch KGN392WDFG fridge freezer is designed to be no-frost, so you shouldn’t have to faff around defrosting it yourself. It also has super freeze and super cool settings (handy if you’ve just put a large batch of shopping in it).

There are five shelves and three egg trays in the fridge. The freezer has three drawers and an ice cube tray. We managed to fit 14 supermarket bags of groceries inside.

Its doors are reversible if the default right hinge setup doesn’t work for your kitchen layout. Warning alarms sound if the doors have been left open or the fridge freezer detects that it is malfunctioning.

If you're curious to know more about it, our Bosch KGN392WDFG review carries on in more detail.

How to spot a good deal on a fridge freezer

Fran Roberts-Thornton Which? fridge freezer expert says:

Fran
  • Whether it's on sale or not, a fridge freezer is a significant purchase that will hopefully last you for years. Be wary of great-sounding deals on fridge freezers that aren't energy efficient, because an electricity-hungry model could end up costing you more in the long run.
  • Don’t be upsold on gimmicks or flashy features that you're not likely to use. Our research proves that manufacturers sometimes prioritise fancy features and settings over cooling or freezing food effectively. Read our reviews to make sure you're buying the best fridge freezer for your specific needs.
  • Always check there’s enough space in your kitchen to fit your new fridge freezer. You’ll need at least 5cm all around it for effective ventilation.

Where to find deals on specific fridge freezer brands

Big high street and online retailers such as Amazon, AO, Argos, Currys and John Lewis tend to offer better deals than the manufacturers.

To ensure you choose a model you’re happy with, read our fridge freezer reviews. That way, you’ll avoid picking up a ‘bargain’ that turns out to be a dud.

Haier fridge freezer deals

If you have your heart set on a multi-door or American-style fridge freezer, Haier produces a good range that are widely stocked at stores including AO, Currys and John Lewis. A bigger fridge freezer means a greater outlay, though, so check all the major retailers’ websites to make sure you’re getting a competitive price.

Beko fridge freezer deals

Beko’s range of lower-priced fridge freezers is widely available on the high street and online from stockists, including AO.com, Currys and John Lewis. Fridgemaster fridge freezer deals

Fridgemaster fridge freezers are already often cheaper than average, so you’ll need to look hard to find a discount. You’ll find the brand at cheaper retailers, including AO, Appliances Direct and Argos.

Samsung fridge freezer deals

It's a brand that may be more commonly associated with TVs than refrigeration, but Samsung has an extensive range of fridge freezers available at high-street and online-only stores, including Amazon, AO, Argos and John Lewis. You can also buy models from the Samsung website, but this is often the most expensive route.

Which fridge freezer features are worth paying extra for?

Beyond the basics, there are a few features worth looking out for:

  • Frost-free freezers stop ice from building up in the freezer compartment, so you never need to defrost them.
  • Alarms on some models let you know if the door's been left open or the temperature has dropped.
  • Quick-chill and fast-freeze functions help to lock in the nutrients, so your food stays fresher for longer.
  • Adjustable door racks help you arrange the door storage to make the best use of the space.
