Our Test Labs compare features and prices on a range of products. Try Which? to unlock our reviews. You'll instantly be able to compare our test scores, so you can make sure you don't get stuck with a Don't Buy.

We've surveyed 754 people, including Which? members and other members of the public, to bring you customer score ratings for the best and worst places to buy stairlifts.

Shopping for a stairlift usually involves the company coming to your home instead of you going to a shop. And it's important to choose that company wisely. You don't want to deal with a company that pressure-sells, isn't upfront about pricing, or isn't reliable if your stairlift breaks down.

We've surveyed stairlift owners about their experiences of buying a stairlift, and used the results to calculate customer satisfaction ratings for companies including Acorn, Age UK (which sells Handicare stairlifts) and Stannah.

Best and worst stairlift providers

We asked stairlift owners about the advice they received, dealing with complaints, after-care support, sales practice and transparency of pricing, as well as their overall experience buying a stairlift.

Our lowest-rated provider got a customer score of 62%. It was rated poorly for its sales practices and as average on customer service and pricing transparency.

You can find out which stairlift supplier was rated our first Which? Recommended Provider (WRP) in 2019.
