AEG has teamed up with Italian coffee producer Lavazza to launch a range of brightly coloured capsule espresso machines – the A Modo Mio Favola and A Modo Mio Favola Plus.
Both coffee machines feature a steam pipe, to froth milk for cappuccinos, and use unique A Modo Mio coffee capsules instead of ground coffee.
The coffee machines will be available in six different colours. The Favola comes in white with purple, red, green or brown, while the Favola Plus will be available in metallic brown and almond or metallic brown and grey.

The Which? opinion
Which? coffee machines expert Lisa Galliers says: ‘We’ve seen lots of capsule machines released over the last year; in fact, most of the coffee machines we’ve just tested were capsule models – and not just Nespresso machines, either.
‘For those who don’t want to bother with the mess of ground coffee, or coffee beans, they’re a very convenient option; capsule machines are usually very simple to use and deliver an espresso quickly. The downside is you’re stuck with using one brand of coffee capsules, which aren’t always widely available – plus using capsules isn’t the cheapest coffee option.’

A Modo Mio Favola Plus
The A Modo Mio Favola has just one button to dispense espresso, whereas the Plus has two automatic, programmable buttons which stop and start the water flow automatically.
AEG and Lavazza say the A Modo Mio Favola is compact in size and easy to clean. The A Modo Mio capsules come in eight different coffee blends, ranging from mild to full-flavoured.
The Modo Mio Favola costs £149, while the A Modo Mio Favola Plus will set you back £179. Both are available at online from 26 September and in selected department stores from early October 2011.
