New Best Buy washing machine revealed

And a model so poor we've made it a Don't Buy

One new Best Buy washing machine has been revealed – but which one is it?

We’ve put another five washing machines from brands such as Bosch and Beko through our tough lab tests – could one of them be the right choice for you?

Our group test uncovered a new Best Buy washing machine that does a great job of tackling tough stains. At the other end of the scale, we found a Don’t Buy model that disappoints with poor cleaning and rinsing.

It’s not easy to earn our Best Buy recommendation, which is why you can trust that our Which? Best Buy recommended washing machines are among the crème de la crème. We put all washing machines through the exact same stringent tests to ensure we only recommend those that are head and shoulders above the rest.

Find out which models make the grade in our washing machine reviews pages.

Should you buy a cheap washing machine?

Four of the five most recently tested washing machines are currently available for less than £400. Our tests show that you really don’t have to pay through the nose for fantastic quality – indeed, previous tests have revealed several Best Buy washing machines that cost between £300 and £400.

There’s no direct link between price and quality, which means you could spend a lot and still end up with a washing machine that simply won’t clean clothes well. However, do your research and you could get much more for less.

Reliable washing machines

Most of us are looking for more than a washing machine that just cleans clothes well – we want one that’s also built to last and will give years of fault-free service.

To uncover the most reliable brands, every year we survey Which? members about the home appliances they own to find out which brands last the longest without breaking down.

We use the results to rank brands in order of reliability, and ensure that even if a washing machine scores brilliantly in our tests, it can’t earn our Best Buy seal of approval unless the brand has earned at least a three-star reliability rating or comes with a five-year parts and labour warranty.
