The first-generation Sorento, launched in 2003, was the first introduction to Kia for many Brits: it was a no-nonsense large 4x4, a 'proper' off-roader with an old-school body-on-frame construction, selectable 4WD and low-range gears, plus a limited-slip differential on upper-end versions.
