Best washing machine deals for September 2025

There are 12 different washing programs on this Bosch washing machine, including options for sportswear or clothes with particularly heaving staining. And if you forget to add an item, it's easy to use the Reload function to pop it in after the wash has started.

The control panel is well laid out, and it's also easy to follow the program stages on the LCD display.

It doesn't use an excessive amount of water or energy for a larger machine, so shouldn't inflate your monthly bills.

Hoover HBWOS 69TAME

This 9kg integrated washing machine is a good capacity for a medium-sized household with limited kitchen space. Its programs include soft care, 60°C allergy care and rapid care options that claim to take as little as 14 minutes to wash 2kg.

It’s also a smart washing machine, so you can manage your appliance remotely, run diagnostic checks and scan labels courtesy of the Hoover Wizard app.

Wi-fi functionality means you can use Alexa voice control or the LG ThinQ app to remote start your appliance, receive a notification when a load is complete, perform troubleshooting Smart Diagnosis or download bespoke pre-set cycles.

There are 12 programs to choose from, plus a steam function designed to reduce allergens. Additionally, it uses sensors to weigh the load and adjust washing times accordingly, potentially saving water and energy. You can also add items to the wash while the program is running.

Washing machine deals from £400 to £600

AEG LFR61144B

This high capacity freestanding washing machine is a good choice for a larger household with lots of washing to do. It offers 11 wash programs from cottons and synthetics through to duvet or eco 40-60 washes, plus a rapid wash. 

It also has 6000 ProSense technology, which the manufacturer claims weighs each load to provide a tailored cycle – adjusting time, water and energy consumption to the size of the load.

You can't control it remotely via a smartphone app, but you will get a time-remaining display, delayed start options and an accessory to help measure how much liquid detergent to use.

AEG boasts that this machine comes with a feature called ‘PreciseWash’, which it claims boosts water and energy efficiency by reducing the amount of water the machine uses, depending on the load size.

It has 12 programs including woollens and delicates. It also includes a ‘ProSteam’ steam feature aimed at reducing the need for ironing.

There is a delay start of up to 20 hours, a child lock and a time-remaining display. A helpful ‘Add wash’ feature also lets you pop in extra pieces of laundry once the program has started running.

You can time your washing to start when it suits you with the delay start feature, and there's also a 'Time Save' button that aims to shave a few minutes off each cycle where it can.

This Bosch washing machine can hold up to 9kg of laundry and has a maximum spin speed of 1,400rpm, which is about average. There are 15 wash programs to choose from, covering basic settings such as cottons and synthetic, as well as more specific options for jeans, sportswear and an eco mode, too.

If you're in a rush, there are two quick options taking 15 or 30 minutes, depending on the size of your load. And there's an iron assist program that aims to reduce wrinkles.

This LG washing machine wouldn’t look out of place in even the most modern kitchen thanks to its sleek, futuristic design. It has a generous 11kg capacity, too, making it well suited to a busy household.

There are an impressive 24 options to choose from. You get the usual cottons and synthetics cycles, as well as specific programs for towels, duvets, baby items, downwear and even ‘sleeves, hems and collars’. Plus, you can also use the Allergy Care setting if you have sensitive skin.

The machine is wi-fi compatible so you can use the My Electrolux Care app to personalise settings, get tips and suggestions, and troubleshoot problems.

How to spot a good deal on a washing machine

Rebecca Jakeman, Which? washing machines expert says: More often than not, paying more for a washing machine doesn't guarantee you exceptional cleaning performance. In fact, models with higher price tags tend to offer extra features instead, such as 'smart' capabilities and more washing programs – so there's no need to pay above the odds if you don't want to.

How much do you need to pay for a washing machine?

Some washing machines cost less than £300, while others stretch well over the £1,000 mark.

Which? testing shows you’re more likely to end up with a Don’t Buy than a Best Buy if you spend less than £300.

You usually have to pay more than £500 to get a Best Buy. With this budget you can choose between a variety of Best Buys, ranging from big to small, freestanding and integrated.

There are hidden gems to be found, however – check out the best cheap washing machines under £400. 

It's always a good idea to check our washing machine reviews before buying – the most expensive Don’t Buy we’ve found in our tests is nearly £580. That's an expensive mistake to make!

What extra washing machine costs should you consider?

1. Installation and delivery costs

Some retailers charge significantly more than others for delivery.

Some give you no choice over the date or time of the delivery (so you'll need to make sure you're at home that day).

AO charges the most we've seen for a quick delivery and a time slot of your choice – either morning (7am-12pm), lunch (10am-2pm) or afternoon (12-5pm). 

2. Disposal and recycling costs

Disposal costs start from around £20 from each retailer.

AO charges £30 to disconnect your old appliance, but most other retailers include this service in the installation cost of your new machine.

So AO's charge could add £30 to the total cost of your new freestanding appliance. But your total costs could potentially still be less than elsewhere, depending on what combination of services you need.  

Overall, it pays to be flexible about timings if you can. If you're not able to collect, install or disconnect your washing machine, there's not much you can do other than pay the additional fees, so keep that in mind and factor it in to your total budget.
