This full-sized, freestanding dishwasher has 14 place settings and a spacious cutlery tray up top, so it’s ideal for medium to large households. Smaller households could also run a half load. 

There are nine programs, including main wash (auto), fast (express) and eco cycles, as well as a delicate setting for glassware and an intensive wash for very dirty items. You can also choose to delay the start time by up to 12 hours.

The machine has wi-fi and you can download the LG ThinQ app on Android or iOS to remotely start a cycle from your phone. You can browse and download additional programs, see status information such as energy use, and access the Google voice control assistant.

It's a full-sized, freestanding dishwasher from LG with TrueSteam technology that LG says sprays steam onto your dishes to remove 99.99% of bacteria. It also offers QuadWash – a four-arm spray system designed to offer more powerful water pressure.

It has 14 place settings, so it’s suited to medium to large families. Smaller households could also run a half load. Plus, it has a cutlery drawer at the top. There are 10 programs, including auto, intensive and eco wash, and six special modes such as steam wash and extra dry. You can also choose to delay the start time by up to 12 hours.

It offers wi-fi connectivity and an app that lets you monitor your cycle from a smart device and sends handy maintenance reminders, but you can't start it remotely.

Bosch SMS6TCI02G

The Bosch SMS6TCI02G has a high RRP, but the feature list goes some way to justifying the price. This dishwasher has smart wi-fi, three spray arms, innovative drying technology and nine washing programs.

You can set an additional program as a favourite, and choose ‘intelligent’ mode, which adapts the wash to how you use the machine and even recommends alternative options. Choosing 'speedperfect+' reduces any cycle time, sometimes by half. You can delay the start time of any cycle up to 24 hours ahead. You can also download the HomeConnect app and connect the machine to wi-fi to unlock the smart features.

Alongside a child lock, the AquaStop anti-flood sensor detects leaks and automatically stops the machine. The door opens automatically at the end of the cycle to help drying. The machine also has Bosch’s Zeolith technology, which converts the humidity of the cleaning cycle into warm air to help dry dishes.

Full-sized, integrated dishwashers

Hisense HV16CUK

This Hisense dishwasher can accommodate 16 place settings, making it suitable for a large household. Cutlery goes in a dedicated tray at the top of the machine. The upper rack is height-adjustable and has supports for wine glasses.

There are seven programs, including main (Auto 45-65°C), eco and fast (1hr, 65°C) washes, along with intensive and ‘glass’ cycles for very dirty and delicate items, a hygiene program and a self-clean option. You can choose the ‘speed wash’ mode to cut the program time down to 15 minutes when you’re in a hurry. 

All program start times can be delayed by up to 24 hours, and when a program finishes, the door opens automatically to help vent the steam. It's not a smart dishwasher so you can't use it with an app.

LG DB273TX

LG claims that its QuadWash four-arm system releases powerful blasts of water to provide wider cleaning coverage, while its Direct Drive motor controls water circulation to give you quieter performance. 

Other modern features include TrueSteam, which LG claims removes more bacteria, and it's compatible with LG's ThinQ app, which lets you find out more about the programs, download new ones, monitor your cycle and set reminders. However, it doesn’t let you start the dishwasher remotely.

You can clean up to 14 place settings and it offers nine programs, including auto, eco and Intensive.

Bosch SMH4HVX00G

This full-sized and fully integrated dishwasher from Bosch can accommodate 14 place settings, so it will suit a medium to large home. It has seven programs, including main (Auto 45°-65°), eco and fast (Express 65°) washes, along with intensive, delicate and machine care cycles.

You can select an extra-dry mode, choose a half-load cycle, and activate 'speedperfect+' to reduce the running time of selected programs. There’s also an additional silence mode that Bosch claims reduces noise.

All cycles can be delayed by up to 24 hours. You can also download the Home Connect app to your smartphone to remotely start the dishwasher, and add extra programs. It has a five-year warranty.

Miele G5851 SCVi

The Miele G5851 SCVi is a fully integrated dishwasher that – with its 14 place settings – will appeal to medium-to-large families with a fitted kitchen.

It has six wash programs including the standard main/auto, eco and fast (Powerwash 65°C) cycles, along with a gentle cycle for glassware, an intensive wash for very dirty dishes and a rinse program.

You can choose ‘quick’ mode to speed up any program, and delay the start time by up to 24 hours. Cutlery goes into a drawer at the top of the machine. You can adjust the height of the upper rack, but it doesn’t have any dedicated supports for wine glasses. The door opens automatically at the end of the cycle to help with the drying process.

Slimline, freestanding dishwashers

AEG FFB62417ZW

This slimline dishwasher is 45cm wide, so if you don’t need or have room for a full-size model, it could be a good choice. The SatelliteClean spray arm has a rotating head, which AEG says cleans more effectively and uses less water than standard spray arms.

Small but mighty it holds nine place settings and you'll find a good selection of programs on the control panel, including a sensor-controlled auto wash, eco program, machine-clean setting and timed cycles that last from 30 to 160 minutes. 

There's no wi-fi connectivity, so you can't use it with an app.

Slimline, integrated dishwashers

Miele G 5790 SCVi SL

This Miele slimline dishwasher holds nine place settings, giving a good amount of space for the plates, cutlery and dishes used by a smaller household. 

It has eight programs, including an eco setting, an automatic wash cycle for everyday cleaning, a gentle 45˚C setting for delicate glassware, an intensive 75˚C for heavily soiled pans, a quiet mode at 55˚C and a powerwash at 60˚C. Its QuickPowerWash 65˚C cycle takes just under an hour, and using express mode cuts any cycle’s run time by 50%. 

The cycle start time can be delayed by 25, 30 and 45 minutes, or one-hour increments, up to a full 24 hours ahead. It's not a smart dishwasher.

Will there be any good Black Friday dishwasher deals this year?

If you're waiting for Black Friday to buy a new dishwasher, you could get a pretty good deal. Although bear in mind that there are often deals on dishwashers all year round, and the January sales are also a good time to buy. So they may be cheaper or a similar price outside of the Black Friday sales period. 

The annual shopping event falls on 27 November in 2026, and discounts often start from early November, so we'd recommend starting your search early and keeping tabs on prices – they do fluctuate. If you want to wait until Black Friday has passed, Which? research reveals that over a third (35%) of appliances are actually cheaper following the sales period. However, this strategy could be risky if the dishwasher you've got your eye on goes out of stock.

How to spot a good deal on a dishwasher

Humairaa Habib, Which? dishwasher expert, says: 'We update our dishwasher deals page every month to reveal the best deals and savings from retailers, so keep an eye on it if you're looking to bag a bargain. Keep in mind that an expensive dishwasher won't necessarily clean better, because a higher price tag usually means it offers more wash programs or smart features. But how much value are you getting from these features, if you're not going to use them? 

'We've tested premium, mid-range and budget dishwashers that offer five-star cleans, so it's key to read our reviews before buying. Consider the annual running costs too, because a dishwasher that guzzles lots of energy and water will cost you more in the long run.'

How much do you need to pay for a dishwasher?

Dishwasher prices vary considerably – we've tested models that cost under £250 and some that are priced at more than £1,300. 

You can spend as little as £250 to get a Best Buy slimline dishwasher, or £400 for a Best Buy full-sized dishwasher. Prices creep up depending on the model and extra features, such as Miele's AutoDos, which automatically dispenses detergent. 

It's important to check our dishwasher reviews before buying, especially when the most expensive Don't Buy we've found in our tests costs around £420, which is an expensive mistake to make. 

There are also ongoing costs to consider, for example, energy, so check annual running costs before you buy and consider our Eco Buy dishwashers if you need an energy efficient model to keep costs down. Eco Buy dishwashers usually cost more than £350. 

There are hidden gems to be found, however, so see the best cheap dishwashers under £500. 

What extra dishwasher costs should you consider?

1. Delivery and installation costs

Delivery prices vary, but they can be up to £50 if you need the dishwasher fast and at a specific time. 

For example, AO charges the most we've seen for a quick delivery and a time slot of your choice – either morning (7am-12pm), lunchtime (10am-2pm) or afternoon (12-5pm). 

Currys charges more to deliver larger items, including dishwashers, and costs are higher if you need to book a time slot. 

2. Disposal and recycling costs

You may also need to pay to install your new dishwasher and remove and dispose of your previous one.

AO charges £30 to disconnect your old appliance, whereas most other retailers include this service in the installation cost.

So AO's charge could add £30 to the total cost of your new freestanding appliance. However, your total costs could still be lower elsewhere, depending on the specific combination of services you require.  

Overall, it pays to be flexible about timings if you can. If you're unable to collect, install or disconnect your dishwasher, there's not much you can do other than pay the additional fees, so keep that in mind and factor it into your total budget.

3. Energy running costs

Another cost you need to consider is the amount of energy used to run your washing machine, which could vary considerably depending on the model. 

For example, one of our most expensive dishwashers to run can cost around £100 in electricity per year, while a more economical model is around £45 to run per year.
