Triton has been making showers for more than 40 years and offers a wide choice, including digital, mixer, power and electric models. Triton showers tend to dominate the entry-level, budget segment of the market, but the company also produces a number of mid-level and premium showers.

Triton electric showers

Electric showers differ from traditional mixer showers as they have their own heating element. They connect to your cold-water supply and heat the water as they run. This means you don’t have to wait ages for a water tank to heat up before you can shower, and you can still use them even if your boiler stops working.

Triton offers an extensive selection of electric showers, including its stylish Amore range with its touch-sensitive controls, and the easy-to-install T80 range.

If you live in an area with low water pressure, then Triton produces a number of electric showers that have their own pumps, helping to boost the water flow. There are also thermostatic models that regulate the temperature, reducing the impact should anyone else use the water supply at the same time.

Triton makes multiple versions of each model, which differ according to how powerful they are. In general, the higher the wattage, the more water it can heat and push through the shower head in one go. Triton electric showers range from 7.5kW to 10.5kW; you’ll get more hot water to wash away the soap suds from a 10.5kW shower, compared with a 7.5kW one.

We’ve used this feedback to generate a customer score for the brand, and also to calculate an overall reliability score based on how likely Triton electric showers are to break down.

Triton power showers

Power showers have an integrated pump to boost flow rate, and are more powerful than electric showers. They draw from both hot and cold water supplies, which are mixed within the unit, and are only suitable for low-pressure systems.

Most shower brands have a comparatively small range of power showers, and Triton is no different. At the time of writing, it only offered three power showers – the AS2000X and AS2000XT (thermostatic), costing £280-350, and the more expensive polished-chrome Aspirante (£450).

Owners' ratings for Triton power showers

As with electric showers, we've surveyed Triton power shower owners to ask how satisfied they are with their Triton shower, and whether they would recommend the brand to a friend.

Triton mixer showers

Mixer showers draw from both hot and cold water supplies, which are readily available via a combi boiler or large-capacity hot-water cylinder. The water is then mixed within the valve.

All Triton's mixer showers are thermostatic, although they have different control options. Prices vary tremendously, ranging from around £90 to more than £400. Models in its EXE series are typically the cheapest, while you pay more for the easy-to-fit Eden range.

Triton digital showers

Digital showers work in a similar way to mixer showers, but their digital controls make it easier to set the temperature you want.

Triton’s HOST range has wireless connectivity, so you can turn on the shower while you grab a bit longer in bed. Showers in this range also have a full colour digital display which is easy to read, and lets you store all your favourite shower settings.
