Bugaboo has just released details of its new Bugaboo Bee3 pushchair – which has a detachable carrycot, larger storage basket and bigger sun canopy.
The Bugaboo Bee is a popular choice for urban parents because of its lightweight and compact design.
In designing the Bee3, Bugaboo has kept the features that make it well-suited for city life but, in adding a detachable carrycot, has attempted to give the Bee3 a wider appeal.

Bugaboo Bee3: what’s new?
The Bugaboo Bee3 is compatible with a new carrycot that allows your baby to lie completely flat. However, although it is self-standing, it is not suitable for overnight sleeping.
The Bee3 has a bigger storage basket than the previous Bee, up from 16 litres to 22 litres. We’ll test just how much shopping it can hold when we get the Bee3 into our lab.
The sun canopy now extends further too and with its UPF 50+ protection, should provide good coverage for your child. The fabric is also new and Bugaboo claims it is more breathable and comfortable.
There are 64 colour combinations to choose from and Bugaboo says it has improved the wheels, chassis and designed a new harness. We look forward to seeing whether these tweaks make any difference to our test results.
Bugaboo Bee price
The Bee3 will be in shops from September 2014 but the improvements don’t come cheap.
The old Bee (also known as the Bee+) and the additional newborn cocoon cost around £550 – see our to see whether it is rated a Which? Best Buy.
The new Bee3 will cost £539 for the pushchair and an additional £200 for the carrycot.
We’ve tested hundreds of pushchairs over the years and base our testing on the features that you tell us are the most important.
Our pushchair lab tests include safety and durability tests as well as expert assessments and getting a parent panel to try out every pushchair with their children and rate it on its ease of use – such as folding and unfolding, using the storage basket, attaching the accessories and manoeuvring it on a variety of terrains.
We will be sending the Bee3 to our lab as soon as we can.
