By Alison Potter

Having a child can be expensive, but knowing where to find the best deals on baby products can make a real difference to your baby-budget worries. Our guide can help.

Put us to the test

Our Test Labs compare features and prices on a range of products. Try Which? to unlock our reviews. You'll instantly be able to compare our test scores, so you can make sure you don't get stuck with a Don't Buy.

Having a baby is an exciting time, but money worries may creep in. We're here to help parents, grandparents and carers to save money when buying those baby essentials. Check out the raft of special offers and discounts we've found on pushchairs, child car seats, baby monitors and more.

We've scoured the deals on offer this month to find the lowest prices on Which? Best Buy products, or products that are only a few percentage points off being Best Buys. This means they've aced our rigorous lab tests for both safety and usability.

However, it's advisable to read the full review before you buy, to make sure it's the best product for you – just follow the link in the model name to find out more about each item.

Best baby car seat deals

Although a car seat can seem like an expensive purchase, when you consider how many uses you will get out of it, some seats actually cost around 20p a day when you factor in four years of use.

As a car seat is such an essential safety product for babies and children, we don't advise buying one online without seeing it first.

It’s important to be able to examine a car seat in person, where you also have the opportunity to ask questions about how best to use it, as well as have it expertly installed by someone who is specially trained.

Some retailers will let you buy online and pick it up in store, which means you can still get it fitted into your car when you go to the shop to collect it.

We’d recommend checking our pick of the best child car seats to find out how a car seat copes in our crash tests before you spend any money.

We crash test every car seat we review, putting each through a front and side-impact crash to find the best.

Car seat deals

This i-Size car seat is approved for use in airplanes and it’s compatible with a number of Best Buy pushchairs as part of a travel system. It’s suitable for babies measuring 45cm to 75cm, which is essentially from birth up to 12 months. It really impressed in our tough front and side-impact crash tests, plus it’s easy to install and comfortable for baby. The RRP is £199, but we’ve spotted it at a retailer where it’s 15% off, which drops the price down to £169.

You'll have no issues installing this i-Size extended rearward-facing car seat, which is approved for use from 61cm up to 105cm (approximately 3 months to four years old). It’s installed using the integrated Isofix base and support leg, and it has a 360-degree swivel design to help you to put your child in the seat and remove them again. It gets a good four-star safety rating in our crash tests, and the RRP is £380 but we’ve found it on offer for £300.

Best pushchair deals

You'll find all manner of buggies on the market these days, from city three-wheelers to sturdy all-terrain pushchairs.

Whichever option you choose, one of the models we've named a best pushchair will make life easier, being both safe and easy to use.

We generally don’t recommend buying car seat and pushchair bundles, as it’s important to consider each purchase carefully to ensure you’re choosing the best possible products for your child.

Here are some of the best pushchair deals we've spotted – just follow the link to read our full review of each buggy.

Best pushchair deals

Both our parent testers and experts were impressed with how easy this Best Buy stroller is to use and push. It’s lightweight, it’s compact and it has a one-hand fold. The lie-flat seat is suitable from birth, and it can be used with children up to 25kg, which is about six years old. It's not cheap at £185, but it comes with a carry handle, a carry bag and a rain cover included, and there is one place in particular where it’s currently on sale for just £130.

This Best Buy travel system combines easy-to-use features with good manoeuvrability, especially on rougher ground. The seat unit is reversible and it’s suitable from birth. It has a one-hand fold and recline, adjustable handlebars and it also folds down quite compactly. One retailer is offering it as a four-piece starter bundle for £749, which includes a carrycot, car seat adaptors and a cup holder. The package is worth £886, meaning you save you £137. It also has six and eight-piece bundles available that offer even bigger discounts.

There’s the option of using the seat unit, carrycot or Best Buy car seat with this Best Buy stroller, plus the seat can be world or parent-facing. It’s capable on most surfaces thanks for the large all-terrain wheels and all-wheel suspension, and it’s easy to use thanks to the one-hand fold and recline. It will set you back £450 at most retailers, however it can be found online for £278, saving you £172.

Best deals on baby monitors

There's no point buying a baby monitor if it doesn't cover the whole range of your house and garden, and poor sound or picture quality can be a nightmare on mediocre models. Our baby monitor reviews separate the best from the rest.

If you’re thinking about buying a smart baby monitor that connects to your wi-fi, it’s important to bear in mind how secure it is.

For wi-fi baby monitors we test for any security vulnerabilities you may need to know about, such as unsecured data or weak password requirements, and whether any data could be intercepted.

For monitors that have wi-fi, video or audio capabilities, we also check sound and picture quality, as well as range and signal strength.

Below are some good deals on baby monitors – click the links to find out whether they're suitable for you.

Baby monitor deals

This Best Buy audio baby monitor has excellent range, clear sound and the battery can stretch to 17 hours so you won’t have to charge it too often. It’s one of the cheapest baby monitors we’ve tested, but it’s worth every penny. Usually it costs £30, but at the moment you can get it for the bargain price of £25, making it an ideal back-up monitor for using at the grandparents or taking on holiday.

Wi-fi baby monitors allow you to easily see and listen to your baby via an app on your smartphone or tablet. And as they’re not reliant on traditional signal, you can view your baby wherever you are as long as you have a decent wi-fi connection. They’re typically pricier than standard video or audio baby monitors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a good bargain. Our highest-scoring wi-fi baby monitor is an excellent investment and it will generally set you back £270, but we’ve found it on sale for just £150.
