How good is iD's mobile coverage?

iD Mobile is a virtual provider, which means it doesn't have its own phone network. Instead, it uses another providers' infrastructure – in this case Three's – and offers 3G and 4G coverage.

You can check coverage where you live by using our free interactive coverage map. Simply enter your postcode into the map and it will tell you how good Three's signal is in your area, as well as comparing it with the other providers.

iD Mobile's deals and incentives

iD Mobile offers a range of pay-monthly and pay-as-you-go (PAYG) deals to customers.

All plans are for 30 days and includes a range of pricing options. Choosing a pay-monthly also allows you to choose whether you want a supplied handset or prefer a Sim-only option.

Pay-monthly deals start from £3.99/month whereas PAYG deals start from £5/month.

iD Mobile stores

iD Mobile doesn't have its own stores - instead it's a Carphone Warehouse brand and so is available exclusively from its branches. And with over a thousand of those in the UK it's pretty easy to track down nearby help and advice.

You can find your nearest branch using the Carphone Warehouse store locator or by calling iD customer services on 7777 (from an iD mobile) or 0333 003 7777.

Complaints about iD Mobile

Telecoms regulator Ofcom regularly publishes information on the number of complaints it gets about the main mobile providers. Unfortunately, iD Mobile's market share is too small for Ofcom to release these figures.

In its latest report, covering the first quarter of 2019 (January to March), iD Mobile generated a low level of complaints – two per 100,000. While it can't quite match Tesco Mobile's rate (one per 100,000 customers), it's below the level of complaints generated by Vodafone and Virgin Mobile (six per 100,000).
