Locating the article and serial numbers

Ikea is warning customers about dishwashers which may suddenly stop working or show an error message due to a faulty component. The defect affects only Ikea dishwashers purchased in 2014 and 2015.

If your dishwasher is affected, the furniture and appliance supplier is offering a free home service. The defect is not a safety risk, Ikea says, and you can continue to use your dishwasher as normal until it is serviced. Follow the steps below to find out if your dishwasher is affected.

Is my dishwasher affected?

If you bought your Ikea dishwasher in 2014 or 2015, check the machine’s article number (PNC) and serial number (SN). You can find these on the rating plate, located on the right side of the door.

Then visit the Ikea website and enter the article and serial numbers to find out if your Ikea dishwasher is affected. If so, you will be advised how to proceed.

Which? dishwasher testing

We have tested hundreds of dishwashers, including full-sized and slimline, freestanding and built-in. Best Buy dishwashers have excellent cleaning and drying performance. Nobody wants a machine which spreads grime around your cutlery and crockery, so every item should be left gleaming and dry.

A Best Buy dishwasher must also be easy to operate and load. It should be able to fit variously sized and shaped items, such as long-stemmed wine glasses and large dishes. We also assess all models for noise and energy and water use. Find out more about the lengths we go to in how we test dishwashers.
