The supermarket's new products suit buyers on a budget, but exploring our expert reviews will help you uncover Best Buy alternatives

A temptingly cheap Canon printer and 14-inch Medion touchscreen laptop are Aldi’s latest Specialbuys on sale from Thursday 22 August and while stocks last.

The new arrivals might catch your eye if you want to stay productive in your home office without splashing the cash.

Flaunting a foldable design, the Medion laptop can transform from a standard laptop to a tablet, and Canon’s printer offers copy, print and scan functions for a low price.

Aldi Specialbuy: Canon MG3050 All-In-One Printer (£24.99)

  • Wi-fi-enabled
  • Copy, print and scan
  • Print from social media and cloud services

This all-in-one printer from Canon makes up part of the brand’s popular Pixma family. It prints, copies and scans, and built-in wi-fi support makes it compatible with Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print. There’s a 275-sheet paper tray to put to work.

By downloading the Canon Print app for iOS and Android devices, you can check ink levels and schedule jobs remotely. Although this Pixma printer is available in a variety of colours at other retailers, Aldi is only selling the black version.

Before you add it to the basket, make sure you check our Canon Pixma MG3050 review. We’ve got more on ink costs and print speeds.

Aldi Specialbuy: 14-inch Intel Pentium 2in1 Notebook (£399.99)

  • 14-inch touchscreen display
  • 512GB internal storage
  • 4GB Ram

This is the priciest laptop that Aldi has ever featured as a Specialbuy, but it’s still reasonably affordable. For the £400 you’re parting with, you get a foldable notebook-style laptop with 512GB of storage space.

Marked by Aldi as an online exclusive, this Medion laptop runs on Windows 10 Home. It’s powered by an Intel Pentium Gold 4415U processor and 4G of Ram. On paper, that should be enough power for basic tasks, but if you’re looking for a laptop to edit photos and videos, you’ll want a speedier processor.

Although we haven’t tested this specific model, we have gone hands-on with other affordable Medion laptops. Take a look at both our Medion laptop reviews.
