Lloyds Bank began life in 1765 and, alongside its banking products, offers various kinds of insurance such as car, home and life cover.
As of December 2024, it has partnered with Agria to provide pet insurance.
Cat and dog owners can choose from its gold, silver and bronze policies, paying out up to £12,000, £6,000 and £3,000 per year respectively.
All are lifetime policies, so any condition your pet develops after the insurance has been taken out will continue to be covered as long as the policy is in place.

In 2023, Lloyds Bank's underwriter Agria paid 95-100% of claims made on its policies, which is about average.
Of those who made claims, 0-5% made complaints – again, average for lifetime policies.
You can claim with Lloyds Bank through its website, or you can ask your vet to make a claim for you. This is recommended, as your vet will have your pet's medical history and treatment details to hand.
If you make a claim yourself, make sure you have a copy of the pet's medical details and any paperwork or invoices detailing the costs of its treatment.
