Pressure washers are always a popular purchase for summer, but as the nationwide lockdown keeps us at home all weekend, now is the perfect time to jet wash your car, decking and patio.
It doesn’t have to be an expensive investment. Pressure washers can cost more than £400, but if you can get to a Lidl from 7 May 2020, you can pick up the Lidl Parkside PHD170 A1 for just £99.99.
Read on to see what features it comes with and if it’s worth searching the middle isles.

What does the Lidl pressure washer offer?
This Lidl pressure washer comes with a few handy features that we’re pleased to see on such a cheap model. These include:
- A variable nozzle jet. This lets you adjust the water pressure from a pointed jet to a spray fan for cleaning different, more delicate surfaces.
- Wheels. This will help you push around its nearly 12kg of weight, handy if you struggle to carry heavy items.
- Hose storage. Would stop the 10-metre hose from getting tangled when you store your pressure washer.
Features aren’t everything though, and they don’t tell you how good a model it really is. We’ve tried out this pressure washer to see how easy it is to use and, crucially, how well it cleans. See our Lidl Parkside PHD170 A1 first look review for our first impressions.
Should you buy a cheap pressure washer?
As the specs on the Lidl Parkside pressure washer show, you don’t always have to spend hundreds of pounds to get the features you’re after.
However, like many cheap pressure washers, this Lidl model is missing some of the added extras you’d get if you spend more, such as a powerful rotary jet for heavy-duty cleaning on your decking and a patio-cleaner attachment to make the job easier.
We’ve also found that cheaper pressure washers tend to be less powerful than pricier models, so if you have a lot of dirt to blast you might be better off spending more.
Pressure washers cost vs average test score
As our research shows, the more you spend on a pressure washer, the more likely it is to be a great performer.
However, there are excellent and terrible models at both ends of the spectrum, so you should always check our pressure washer reviews before you bring one home.
