What makes a Which? Recommended Provider?
Which? Recommended Providers are the cream of the crop, and the accolade is only given to broadband companies that achieve a customer score of 70% or above.
That's not all. We know that price is important, so companies can only be Recommended Providers if they charge a reasonable price for their services. If they charge too much they're not eligible, whatever score they receive in the survey.
What is the latest TalkTalk router?
Both routers are free.
TalkTalk broadband deals
TalkTalk offers a range of unlimited broadband and phone packages. You can't take out a broadband-only deal, although you can add a TV service.
TalkTalk previously promised the price of its deals wouldn't change mid-contract but it's since changed policy. From 2022, the price of TalkTalk deals will increase in line with inflation, plus an additional 3.7%. However, customers can opt for 'Fixed Price Plus' - this means annual price rises won't apply, but it comes with an additional fee.
Packages come with no inclusive calls as standard, but you can buy call plans (called 'boosts'). TalkTalk doesn't offer discounted line rental for customers who choose to pay upfront.
Packages also come with TalkTalk's SuperSafe system, which protects you from viruses and other online threats, as well as family-friendly features including the ability to block websites you don't want your children to view.
TalkTalk broadband speeds
TalkTalk offers standard broadband (average speed of 11Mbps) and fibre (average speed of 35Mbps or 63Mbps) packages. Its ultrafast fibre deal is also available to customers in certain locations - this has an average speed of 145Mbps.
