Yvette FletcherPrincipal researcher & writer

Vodafone has become one of the better value home broadband providers in the UK, and offers a wide range of packages – but it hasn't always been rated highly by its customers in the Which? satisfaction survey. Our latest customer survey reveals how Vodafone broadband customers rated their Vodafone broadband service.

Each year, we survey thousands of UK broadband customers to check how they rate each big provider's speed, reliability, customer service and value for money. Read on for our review or use the free broadband comparison service from Which? to find the best Vodafone broadband deal for you.

What Vodafone broadband customers told us

Our research showed that Vodafone broadband customers had fairly positive reviews of the service they received.

  • 'Good value for money. Fast, reliable service. It's very rare we have any problems.'
  • 'I've been a customer for three years and they've always been fair. I've recently extended my contract for another 24 months and the price is still less than with other providers.'

Vodafone broadband deals

Vodafone offers fibre broadband and phone packages. Its two superfast deals are widely available, and it also offers ultrafast broadband to customers in certain locations.

Its broadband prices are generally very competitive. All packages last 24 months and include unlimited data (although you'll need to pay extra to get a calls allowance).

Vodafone Xtra Broadband is an add-on that includes Apple TV 4K (a TV streaming box), an Apple TV+ subscription and unlimited anytime calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

How much is Vodafone broadband?

Vodafone offers a wide range of packages, and it's possible to combine both broadband and mobile services.

You can view the entire range of Vodafone broadband packages, or enter your postcode below to check for the best deals across all providers in your area.

Vodafone broadband speeds

Vodafone only offers fibre broadband services. Its widely available partial fibre packages have average speeds of 36Mbps and 73Mbps.

There are also full fibre deals available to customers in certain areas – these have average speeds starting at 73Mbps and going as high as 2.2Gbps (2200Mbps).

Does Vodafone put up broadband prices every year?

Yes. If you take out a broadband contract with Vodafone, keep in mind that the price of your deal will increase each April.

In July 2024, Vodafone introduced a fixed price increase. Now if you take out a broadband deal with Vodafone, it will increase the amount you pay per month by £3 every spring.

If you took out a deal before July 2024, your contract will include a price increase that is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of inflation as published in January, plus an additional 3.9%. This meant that affected customers saw their bills increase by 6.4% this year.

What is the latest Vodafone broadband router?

Unless you opt to pay extra for Vodafone Pro 2 or Pro 3, your Vodafone broadband package will come with the Vodafone Power Hub router, which is supplied free of charge. It supports Wi-Fi 6 and can handle up to 100 connected devices.

Vodafone also offers an accompanying smartphone app that lets you manage your router from your mobile. This means you can change your wi-fi password, help other people get online using a QR code and check who is connected to your wi-fi.

What is Vodafone Pro 2?

This is Vodafone's premium broadband add-on that you can opt to include with its partial broadband deals Fibre 1 and Fibre 2. Starting at £10 a month, depending on your package (Vodafone Pay Monthly customers are usually given a discount), you'll get access to several extras over and above Vodafone's usual broadband service. These include:

  • An upgraded router, Ultra Hub, with Wi-Fi 6E compatibility.
  • The Super WiFi Booster - a wi-fi extender that helps ensure stronger coverage throughout your home.
  • A back-up dongle, so you can use 4G services via Vodafone's mobile phone network if there's a broadband outage – 100GB of data is included.
  • A guarantee that you'll have reliable wi-fi in every room. One wi-fi extender is included as standard, but up to three more will be supplied if necessary. However, keep in mind that Vodafone's definition of 'reliable wi-fi' is a download speed of at least 10Mbps, despite its fibre services having average download speeds between 38Mbps and 67Mbps.
  • A dedicated technical support team for the first 90 days after installation and call prioritisation afterwards.

Given Vodafone Pro 2 commands substantially higher monthly tariffs than its standard deals, it's worth weighing up whether you'll really need it before signing up.

What is Vodafone Pro 3?

This is another premium broadband add-on - you can opt to include it with with any of Vodafone's full fibre broadband deals. Also starting at £10 per month, depending on your package (once again, Vodafone Pay Monthly customers are usually given a discount), you'll get access to the following extras over and above Vodafone's usual broadband service:

  • An upgraded router, Ultra Hub 7, with Wi-Fi 7 compatibility
  • The Super WiFi 7 Booster  - a wi-fi extender that helps ensure stronger coverage throughout your home
  • A dongle that offers 4G broadband back-up so you can stay connected via Vodafone's mobile phone network if there's a broadband outage – 100GB of data is included
  • A guarantee that you'll have reliable wi-fi in every room. One wi-fi extender is included as standard, but up to three more will be supplied if necessary. However, keep in mind that Vodafone's definition of 'reliable wi-fi' is a download speed of at least 10Mbps, despite its fibre services having average download speeds between 80Mbps and 900Mbps.
  • A dedicated technical support team for the first 90 days after installation and call prioritisation afterwards.

This is another add-on from Vodafone that leads to significantly higher monthly tariffs than its standard deals, so weigh up whether you really need it before committing.
