About St. Columba's Day Centre

St. Columba's Day Centre offers older people a warm, friendly service, with a wide range of activities and pursuits to suit all interests. On arrival, clients are offered a drink and slice of toast. The day proceeds with activities in the morning, then a two course lunch, and further activities in the afternoon, followed by tea and biscuits. Activities on offer range from the usual board games, cards, arts and craft, dominoes and informative speakers to more physical activities such as keep fit, carpet bowls and indoor skittles. The group also play musical bingo, have quiz sessions and reminiscence in the 1950s sitting room. In the summer months it is possible to enjoy a peaceful day on the canal on a narrow boat with a picnic lunch. Transport may be provided within the local area for no extra cost. The centre has five fully qualified care assistants on hand to help with any of the members needs.
