The Platinum trim level joins the Toyota Aygo line up as the range-topping model. It’s as close to luxurious as you’re going to get with an Aygo, but even so you still have to pay extra for air conditioning.
Aygo with Alcantara and leather
It’s based on the existing Aygo+ specification, but adds 14-inch alloy wheels, Crystal Silver metallic paint and six-speaker audio system. Even more significantly, it also features Alcantara and leather upholstery, plus a leather trimmed gearknob.
You can have three- or five-door versions, with five-speed manual or ‘Multimode’ automatic gearbox, all powered by a 67bhp 1.0-litre VVT-i petrol engine.
Aygo Platinum on sale now
Prices start at £8,995 for the three-door Aygo Platinum. Air conditioning costs an extra £490, the Multimode gearbox is £980 (including air-con), while electronic stability control is £340 and the ‘Xtra Protected’ pack with rear parking sensors and extra body mouldings is £380.
The Toyota Aygo Platinum is on sale now. As Toyota says, order before 1st January 2010 to avoid the scheduled VAT increase.
