Mamas and Papas top latest Which? pushchairs test

Mixed results for Maclaren and Graco pushchairs

Mamas and papas ZOOM

The Mamas & Papas Zoom and Glide travel-system pushchairs have come top of the bunch in the latest tests at the Which? lab.

Which? pushchairs expert Victoria Pearson said: ‘We’ve tested 12 of the newest pushchairs in this group and both Mamas & Papas models were a hit with our testers.

‘But we only award Best Buy status to the top 20% of pushchairs we test, so being the best of a batch doesn’t guarantee that we’ll automatically recommend them.’

Visit our pushchairs review to find out if the Mamas & Papas Glide and Zoom (pictured right) are good enough to qualify as Which? Best Buys.

Two Maclaren and Graco pushchairs are also worth considering, but others from the same brands have left our testers underwhelmed.

Mamas & Papas Zoom and Glide pushchairs

Both the Zoom and the Glide are designed for parents with a typical urban lifestyle and have a seat that reverses direction so your younger baby can face you as you walk. The seat can also be replaced by a carrycot to create a pram for younger babies or a child car seat.

The three-wheeler style Zoom is sold as a package including a carrycot and is currently on special offer at £299 (normally £449).

The four-wheel Glide is also sold as a package, including carrycot, changing bag, footmuff and parasol, at a special offer price of £429 (normally £569). Find out what we think of 12 Mamas & Papas pushchairs

Which? searches for the best pushchairs

Which? tests more than 45 pushchairs in the lab each year. Parents and ease-of-use experts take them through a series of everyday situations before rating how well they perform.

We assess how well each pushchair handles surfaces such as pavements, kerbs, gravel paths, stairs and tight spaces, as well as the kind of rough ground you’d expect a pushchair to cope with on country walks.

Meanwhile, our lab experts put each pushchair and its accessories through an exhaustive array of safety and durability tests. We ensure that carrycots and car seats stay firmly attached on rough surfaces and that the pushchair passes the safety standards required for it to be sold in the UK.
