What makes a Which? Recommended Provider?
Which? Recommended Providers are the cream of the crop, and the accolade is only given to broadband companies that achieve a customer score of 70% or above.
That's not all. We know that price is important, so companies can only be Recommended Providers if they charge a reasonable price for their services. If they charge too much they're not eligible, whatever score they receive in the survey.

What is the latest Hyperoptic router?
Hyperoptic supplies two routers - its ZTE Hyperhub comes with its slower (50Mbps and 150Mbps) packages, while its Nokie Hyperhub is supplied to customers on its speediest deals (500Mbps, 1Gbps). Both Hyperhubs need to be installed by an engineer, but this is usually free of charge – there may be a fee if you have specific requirements about where it's placed.
Hyperoptic broadband deals
Rather than using Openreach’s phone lines, Hyperoptic has its own fibre broadband network.
This means it doesn’t sell ‘standard’ speed deals – its only supplies high-speed broadband, so even its entry-level package has an average speed of 50Mbps. It also offers full fibre, allowing keen customers to access speeds much faster than those seen on much of the Openreach network – Hyperoptic's fastest package has average speeds of 900Mbps. In comparison, Virgin Media's fastest widely available package is 516Mbps (although it also offers faster speeds in limited areas)..
However, Hyperoptic’s network isn’t as widely available as the one used by Virgin Media or the Openreach network. It’s currently available to around 400,000 premises in 43 towns and cities in the UK. If you live in an apartment block in a big city, there’s a chance you’ll be able to access the network. Hyperoptic aims to extend its network to five million homes by 2024.
Unlike with most broadband providers, a phone line isn’t compulsory with Hyperoptic – you can take up a broadband-only deal. If you do wish to include a phone line in your deal, this will cost an additional £2 a month.
Hyperoptic contracts usually last for 12 months. You can also opt for a monthly rolling contract, but it will cost a little more each month.

Hyperoptic broadband speeds
Unlike more traditional providers, Hyperoptic only offers fibre broadband.
It has four core packages: ‘Fast’ with an average speed of 50Mbps, ‘Superfast’ with an average speed of 150Mbps, ‘Ultrafast’ with an average speed of 500Mbps and ‘Hyperfast’ with an average speed of 900Mbps.
