How good is Tesco's mobile coverage?

Tesco Mobile is a virtual provider, which means it doesn't have its own phone network. Instead, it uses another providers' infrastructure – in this case O2's – and offers 2G, 3G and 4G coverage.

You can check coverage where you live by using our free interactive coverage map. Simply enter your postcode into the map and it will tell you how good O2's signal is in your area, as well as comparing it with the other providers.

Tesco Mobile deals and incentives

Tesco Mobile offers standard pay-monthly contracts, as well as its own Anytime Upgrade deals. These are similar to O2's Refresh deal, and split your bill in to two components - one for the handset and one for your usage.

At the end of your 24-month contract, you stop paying for your phone and pay only for your monthly usage - saving you money on your bill. If you want a new phone before your contract has finished, you simply pay off whatever's left of your total phone payment.

Tesco Mobile's prices are very competitive. Its cheapest deal costs only £6/month for a Sim-only option with 250 minutes, 5,000 texts and 500MB of data.

If you prefer to pay as you go, then Tesco Mobile's Triple Credit tariff offers just that – a £10 top-up gets you £30 credit that lasts a month.

Tesco Mobile stores

Tesco Mobile has 400 Tesco Mobile Phone Shops all over the UK so it's easy to get one-to-one help.

You can find your nearest shop using the Tesco Mobile store locator or by contacting customer services on 4422 (from a Tesco Mobile device) or 0800 030 4422.

Complaints about Tesco Mobile

Telecoms regulator Ofcom regularly publishes information on the number of complaints it gets about the main mobile providers.

In its latest report, covering the final quarter of 2017 (October to December), Tesco Mobile once again generated the lowest rate of complaints (1 per 100,000 customers). In comparison BT and Vodafone, the worst providers, generated 11 complaints per 100,000 customers.
