Best family holiday providers in 2025 – and the worst
The UK's biggest, best and worst family holiday companies, as rated by thousands of their customers in our survey of nearly 20,000 holidays
Our top-scoring family holiday companies offer very different types of trip, from splash parks and fly-and-flops to family fly-drives and African safaris. But there’s one thing that connects them all – hassle-free holidays.
Trailfinders and Kuoni top our table, because their experts will tailor-make your holiday to ensure it meets the needs of everyone in your party. Personal support like this makes it easier to plan more ambitious holidays with the children to more exotic destinations.
For more affordable options, Jet2Holidays and Hays Travel will make sure your holiday has family-friendly flight times and child-friendly accommodation. Jet2 offers free child places to all its destinations, and even offers a discount for single-parent families.
At the bottom of the table, Loveholidays offers the cheapest per person price, but didn’t muster more than two stars in any category – including value for money.
You can compare customer scores and prices in the table and, for extra peace of mind, all the companies awarded Which? Recommended Provider (WRP) status guarantee that they will not apply surcharges in 2025 – so the price won't go up after you book.

Using the table Based on a survey of 19,958 holidays taken in the past two years from 12,119 Which? Connect members and members of the public in August/September 2024. Sample sizes in brackets. Star ratings are based on one to five stars. The more stars the better. n/a indicates we did not receive enough responses to report on a company in that category. Average price based on the median price per day of holidays taken by survey respondents with the company named in ALL categories of holiday. Short-haul destinations are defined as anywhere less than a five-hour flight from London. Customer score based on a combination of overall satisfaction and how likely people are to recommend the company.

Trailfinders – 83%
Trailfinders specialises in adding tailor-made touches to its holidays, including family safari holidays, active family holidays and private touring for families. Its expert advisors can also recommend child-friendly destinations and resorts.

Kuoni – 82%
Luxury holiday provider Kuoni offers a selection of handpicked holidays for families including family watersports and activity holidays using child-friendly resorts that its experts have tested out themselves.
Customers were impressed with the excellent quality of holidays and the customer service shown, helped by Kuoni’s ‘personal travel experts’ that offer great support with comprehensive knowledge of their packages.
Which? verdict: For a premium family holiday, it doesn’t get much better than Kuoni.

Jet2Holidays – 80%
Jet2holidays offers free child places across all destinations, family-friendly hotels and flight times, and 10kg of extra allowance for car seats, push chairs and cots. There’s even a discount for single parents.
It scored particularly well in this category for the transport provided to and from the destination, which suggests transfers are well-run, and how well organised its holidays are from start to finish.
Which? verdict: Jet2Holidays offers excellent family holidays at an affordable price.

Hays Travel – 79%
Hays Travel is an independent British travel agent and tour operator with over 450 high street branches around the UK.
Hays Travel, which offers child-friendly flights and hotels with kids clubs, was praised for the speedy and efficient customer service holidaymakers received when organising their trips.
Which? verdict: Hays Travel is a very good option for affordable family holidays.

How we researched family holiday companies
In August/September 2024, we asked 12,119 Which? Connect panel members and members of the public to complete an online survey about their experiences of booking and going on holiday in the past two years. Our results are based on 19,958 holidays. We only reported on companies in any given category when we received at least 30 relevant responses.
