We've reviewed two of its home insurance policies – Home and Flood Insurance.

‘Two policies with notable differences’

Dean Sobers, Which? home insurance expert, says:

Dean Sobers

A broker, Coverbaloo provides two policies – the main one is underwritten by Accredited Insurance. The other – underwritten by Ageas and billed as 'Flood Insurance’ on its website – is aimed at customers living in areas of higher flood risk.

Both products cover flooding, but the Ageas policy utilises the government-established Flood Re scheme – which helps people living in flood areas access cheaper premiums.

Both policies are similar, but aren’t identical. The Accredited Insurance version scored 79% and 71% for buildings and contents, respectively.

The Ageas Flood Insurance policy, meanwhile, scored 82% and 73% for buildings and contents. Both were in the top five policies we reviewed for buildings, and among the top 40% of those we assessed for contents.

The Ageas policy was a Best Buy. However, despite its high scores, the Accredited Insurance policy fell short of our endorsement on account of a lower-than-average claims acceptance rate.

We liked that both policies cover repairs to burst pipes caused by freezing or sudden temperature changes.

However, we also noticed that neither policies have matching sets cover – which funds the replacement of a set or suite of items (for example, matching furniture) if one item is damaged and can’t be replaced like-for-like.

Consistent cover

The Ageas iteration of the policy was one of the most consistently good products rated in our analysis, scoring at least three out of five points in 88% of the buildings areas examined, and in 90% of the contents areas.

How can you save money on Coverbaloo home insurance?

Coverbaloo policies do not appear on price comparison websites, but you may get a discount if you buy both buildings and contents cover.

Want to pay monthly? Good news – Coverbaloo doesn't charge any interest for paying monthly rather than annually.

Above information correct as of August 2025. For more ways to save money when buying insurance, see our guide.

How does Coverbaloo compare with other providers?

Coverbaloo's building cover for its standard Flood Insurance policy scored 82% – the highest-scoring standard policy we reviewed. You'd have to go for premium policies by Which? Recommended Provider NFU Mutual or Axa to beat it.

Its standard Flood Insurance contents insurance policy scored 73%, just below both Ecclesiastical and LV's standard policies – with a score of 74%.

How can I claim?

If you have a Home policy and need to make a claim, you can claim online or call 0345 122 3019. For Flood Insurance policyholders, call 01274 700810

Should you buy Coverbaloo home insurance?

With impressive Best Buy cover in both the buildings and contents sides of its policy, we think the Flood Insurance policy (underwritten by Ageas) is certainly worth consideration. Importantly, though, we didn't reach enough Coverbaloo customers in our survey to report on its levels of service.

Unfortunately, despite having similar overall cover levels, a poorer claims acceptance rate means we can't endorse Coverbaloo's other home insurance policy, underwritten by Accredited Insurance.
