Dean Sobers, Which? home insurance expert, says:

Urban Jungle’s Buildings and Contents option scored 71% for buildings cover – the market average – and 56% for contents cover, making it one of the lowest-scoring policies.
There were some things we liked. It doesn’t charge extra to customers who pay in monthly instalments. And it’s one of just three policies we saw that cover storm damage to fences, gates and hedges.
If you’ve got a garden or outbuildings, it’s got some significant gaps – damage or theft of contents in the open, or damage to contents in outbuildings are not covered.
If your dog or cat ruins your carpet, home insurance often won’t be an option.
Urban Jungle offers optional cover for damage caused by domestic pets – along with just three other providers in our analysis.
Urban Jungle’s alternative to its buildings and contents policy is its contents-only cover. This scored 55% in our analysis – slightly less than the combined policy's 56% for contents.
Urban Jungle is underwritten by Canopius Managing Agents Limited and Wakam UK Limited. When it came to claims on the combined policy, the underwriters accepted 70-80% of claims – 71% is the average. Some 10-15% of claimants lodged a complaint – in line with the 12% industry average.
We don't have data on claims acceptance rates for its contents-only policies (the industry average is 71%) or how many claimants complained (the average is 7%).
Urban Jungle appears on the following comparison sites:
Want to pay monthly? Urban Jungle only offers monthly contracts, not an annual contract paid for monthly. As a result, no APR is applied.
The above information is correct as of August 2026. For more ways to save money when buying insurance, see our guide.
While we didn't have enough feedback from claimants to calculate a customer score for Urban Jungle, its combined policy scored 71% for its buildings cover and ranks joint 14th in our standard buildings cover table. This is the same 71% score as standard policies from Halifax, Lloyds Bank and Tesco Insurance.
As for contents insurance, its standard Buildings and Contents policy scored 56% and sits at the bottom of our standard contents insurance table (in 32nd), just below Esure, Privilege and Sheilas' Wheels (which all scored 60%).

Maybe. Urban Jungle’s low scores show that it’s no all-rounder - but if its streamlined approach to cover matches your specific needs, it could be worth a look if the price is right.
