The best smartphone Cyber Monday deals
We’ve grouped the phones by price so you don’t have to trawl through all the deals to find one in your price range.
Premium mobile phones – £500 and up
Apple iPhone 11 Pro – was £1,049, now £949 (10% off)
We liked: Stunning display and improvements all round on last year’s models
We didn’t like: Still very expensive
Apple needed to do something dramatic to keep up with rivals Samsung and Huawei, and whether you love or hate the design of the new camera array, there’s no doubting where the biggest improvements lie. We were impressed to see spit and polish elsewhere, though. In several areas, the 11 series is a significant improvement on the previous generation.
They haven’t been on the market for long, and big discounts on Apple products aren’t common, but you can still save £100 on the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max in the Cyber Monday sales at Amazon.
Apple iPhone XR – was £749, now £549 (27% off)
We liked: Best battery life of the 2018 iPhones
We didn’t like: No headphone jack and no adapter supplied
The iPhone XR was a welcome treat for Apple fans when it launched last year at a much cheaper price than the flagship iPhone XS and XS Max. But what was even more surprising is just how well it actually performed.
Our tests revealed that the iPhone XR delivers the best battery performance compared to the XS and XS Max and now for a much lower price than its siblings, it’s harder than ever to resist buying it.
Oppo Reno 10x Zoom – was £700, now £459 (34% off)
We liked: Unique camera design impressed
We didn’t like: Lacking some key features
From a brand well known for its unique designs, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom doesn’t disappoint. It’s one of the few phones on the market right now that has a truly full display. Its uninterrupted design is thanks to its motorised pop-up front camera.
Our tests proved that the front camera is more than just a gimmick, producing equally detailed photos to the triple camera you’ll find on the rear of the phone. We would’ve liked to see waterproof protection on this phone considering its original price, but with its Cyber Monday discount that might be a sacrifice worth making.
Sony Xperia 1 – was £899, now £549 (40% off)
We liked: Large, high-quality display
We didn’t like: Quite a bit of bloatware
For the loyal Sony fans among us, the mega-brand hasn’t neglected the smartphone market. The Xperia 1 is one of its newest flagships.
This model features the same technology from Sony’s professional monitors. With its huge 6.5-inch display, there’s no doubt that you’re getting a large and vibrant screen. The display has 4K resolution (3,840 x 1,644 pixels), so those Netflix films should look better than ever.
Samsung Galaxy S10 – was £799 now £639 (20% off)
We liked: Exceptional rear camera
We didn’t like: Pricier than the S9 on release
The centrepiece of Samsung’s premium smartphones, the Galaxy S10 still stands as one of the biggest premium launches of the year. With features like a large 5.8-inch display that has a whopping 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, that’s no surprise.
But what makes this phone a head-turner is its camera. Its triple rear-camera array (16Mp, 12Mp and 12Mp) did not disappoint, giving us beautiful pictures with excellent colour detail.
Huawei P20 – was £599, now £300 (50% off)
We liked: Takes detailed pictures, sleek design
We didn’t like: Sound quality is disappointing
The now half-price Huawei P20 Pro is the perfect opportunity to get a phone with premium features at a much more forgiving price than its rivals.
As with most of Huawei’s P Series phones, this model focuses on acing photography. Armed with a dual wide-angle rear lens (20Mp and 12Mp) and a high-resolution 24Mp front lens, the P20 didn’t disappoint in producing well-balanced photos.
