Apple iPhone 12 64GB – £649

  • 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display
  • 5G compatibility
  • IP68 waterproofing

We like: Lovely display

We don’t like: Short-charge battery life isn’t the best

It’s rare to find a discount on an iPhone, especially this latest 5G version, but you can get a great deal on this model this month since the iPhone 13 series has come out.

It has some fancy features including waterproofing and wireless charging, plus it was the first iPhone range to come 5G ready. See if it matches up to its impressive specs by reading our Apple iPhone 12 review.

The current cheapest deal for a Sim-free version of the iPhone 12 with 64GB of storage is £649.

Buy now for £649 at Amazon. Or buy for £679 at John Lewis (where it comes with a two-year guarantee) or Currys.

Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro
  • 128GB built-in storage
  • 6.7-inch LCD screen
  • Quality battery

We like: Long battery life and nice display

We don’t like: Average camera quality

This user-friendly Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro has a great screen and a remarkably long battery life. The sound quality is also good for a slightly cheaper phone, making it a solid all-rounder.

With a 26% discount available, this is a good deal.

Best Black Friday deals: mattresses

Eve The Lighter Hybrid mattress – was £579, now £347 (40% off according to Eve)

Eve The Lighter Hybrid
  • We like: Affordable
  • We didn’t like: There are no handles to help with moving it about

Eve is offering 40% off the Eve Lighter hybrid, cutting the price down to £347 from £579. This is a decent deal and the cheapest we’ve ever seen it.

It’s a pocket sprung and foam combination mattress and is only available to buy online. It’s delivered to your door rolled and vacuum-packed in a box and Eve describes it as more lightweight but no less mighty than its original hybrid mattress.

Read our full Eve The Lighter Hybrid mattress review or buy it now from Eve.

Emma The Original mattress – was £699, now £349.50 (50% off according to Amazon)

Emma The Emma Original
  • We like: Supportive and stable
  • We don’t like: Only available online

Amazon is offering a hefty 50% off this popular mattress from Emma. It’s actually not the cheapest it’s ever been at Amazon but it’s still a good deal.

The mattress is made up of a 19cm foam core and has an additional 2cm layer of memory foam and 4cm layer of ordinary foam. Plus, unlike some bed-in-a-box mattresses this one can be used with an electric blanket which is great for those of you that feel the cold.

It also comes with a 200-night trial so if you decide you don’t like it you can return it and find something else.

Simba Hybrid mattress (double) – £483.45

Simba Hybrid mattress
  • We like: 200-night trial, free returns, not too hot to sleep on
  • We don’t like: Only available online

This hybrid mattress from Simba is comprised of several layers: a 17cm foam core (topped with 3.5cm of foam), 3cm layer of mini pocket springs and 2.5cm foam layer closest to where you sleep. The Simba Hybrid is a bed-in-a-box mattress, which means it arrives vacuum-packed at your front door.

Simba has slashed 45% off the original £879 price tag, making this the biggest discount we’ve seen on this mattress.

Best Black Friday deals: coffee machines

Bosch Tassimo Style TAS1102GB – £29

Bosch Tassimo TAS1102GB
  • We like: compact, easy to clean
  • We don’t like: pods are pricey

This is a compact little coffee machine that lets you make tea and hot chocolate, as well as a range of coffees. You have to use Tassimo T-discs to make your drinks. However, pods like these are not the best for the environment as they’re tricky to recycle – a ground coffee machine is better in this respect. Plus you will be tied to using Tassimo pods, as there aren’t any others that are compatible.

This model was available for around £49, so £20 off is a good reduction.

Is this the right coffee machine for you? See our expert Bosch Tassimo Style TAS1102GB review or buy it now from Currys.

Melitta Purista F230-102 Espresso Machine – £289.95

Melitta Purista F230-102

This bean-to-cup machine lets you choose from three coffee-strength settings, and you can make drinks sized 25ml to 220ml. It’ s quiet, easy to use and clean and also fairly narrow, so a good choice if you don’t have lots of kitchen worktop space.

It’s a little slow, though – you’ll be waiting more than a minute for your first pick-me-up of the day. Subsequent cups are quicker, coming in at around 40 seconds. It doesn’t come with a milk frother, so it’s not for you if you’re partial to a latte or cappuccino.

It may be around £50 cheaper than at rival stores, but it’s still pricey – is it worth your money? See our Melitta Purista coffee machine review or buy it now at Amazon.

Thinking about a ground coffee machine? Use our independent coffee machine reviews to pick the right one for your budget.

Best Black Friday deals: TVs

LG 55NANO806PA – was £899, now £599

LG 55NANO806PA TELEVISION

  • We like: Nicely balanced and expansive sound
  • We don’t like: Operating system can be confusing

This 55-inch model is a mid-range TV from LG’s 2021 range. Its LCD screen has an extra layer of nanocells, which are designed to boost colour. LG Nanocell models range from mid to high-end.

At 33% off, this is a good saving for this 55-inch LG TV.

Is it the right TV for you? Read our full LG 55NANO806PA review or buy it now from AO.com.

LG 50UP77006LB – was £599.99, now £435 (27% off, according to Amazon)

LG 50UP77006LB television
  • We like: HD picture with good detail, solid bass and clear dialogue
  • We don’t like: 4K detail can be inconsistent

If you’re looking to spend less than £500 on a big-screen TV, the LG 50UP77006LB is a decent option.

It has a 50-inch LCD display running at 4k resolution, and a bundled remote with built-in microphone, so you’ll be able use voice commands to find shows on various video streaming apps.

With this LG, you can watch SD content through Freeview and satellite, or HD channels through an aerial or satellite.

Is it as good a deal as it looks? Read our LG 50UP77006LB review, or buy it now on for £440 on Amazon. You can also get it for £10 more at £449 from John Lewis, where it comes with a five-year guarantee.

Best Black Friday deals: Apple AirPods and headphones

Apple AirPods Pro – £169

Apple AirPod Pro

  • We like: Easy to use, truly wireless
  • We don’t like: Limited functionality on Android devices

Normally selling for around £215 on the high street, this is a good discount for these in-demand headphones from Apple.

They’ve got active noise cancelling and are waterproof, to boot. However, despite the discount, this is still a lot of money to pay, so make sure they’re right for you before you buy.

See our expert Apple AirPods Pro review or buy them now at Vchain. You can also buy them for £179 from Appliances Direct.

Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) – from £99

Apple Airpods

We like: comfortable

We don’t like: sound leaks to your surroundings

If you don’t want to splash out on the AirPods Pro but you’ve got your heart set on Apple’s wireless headphones, these are considerably cheaper.

However, this is not an amazing deal as it’s only around £20 off the RRP of £119. But it’s a lot better than the £116 deal we’ve seen at other leading retailers.

Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 5G – was £1,649, now £1,299 (21% off according to Very)

We liked: Thin and light, two-in-one design, decent sound

We didn’t like: The screen could be better at handling reflections

A £350 saving through Very takes the price of this highly portable laptop down to £1,300. The Samsung Galaxy Book Flex2 5G is a small, 13.3-inch laptop powered by an 11th generation Intel Core i5 processor. You get 8GB of Ram (plenty of power for multitasking), plus 256GB of internal storage.

If you fancy using this 1.25kg device on the move, you can flip the keyboard back and hold it like a tablet.

Samsung Galaxy Pro 360 – was £1,299, now £949 (27% off according to John Lewis)

Samsung Galaxy Pro 360

We like: 2-in-1 design, lightweight

We don’t like: Speaker quality

This Samsung laptop features a unique screen hinge mechanism, allowing for it to be used as both a laptop and a tablet. As well as this, it’s thin and lightweight, making it ideal for travelling with.

Down to around £949 from £1,299, this is a good deal. Rival stores have it for more and without the John Lewis guarantee.

  • We didn’t like: Quite noisy

The John Lewis JLWM1407 has a 7kg capacity, 14 different wash programs and a start delay so that you can set it to start when you aren’t at home.

Miele WCA 020 – £629

  • We like: Quick wash programs
  • We don’t like: Not as energy efficient as we’d like

This washer’s 7kg cotton capacity is enough for all of a family of three or four’s laundry needs.

It also has a program specifically for waterproofing microfibre fabric, ski-wear or table linen to make it more resistant to water and dirt.

We’ve seen other retailers offering it at £699, so £70 off is a decent Black Friday deal.

Best Black Friday deals shopping tips

Check the Which? website

As well as finding you the best deals this Black Friday, we’ve also put together a list of the best and worst shops.

We’ve quizzed thousands of Which? members on their experiences of shopping in some of the country’s best-known stores and websites, as well as with lesser-known brands.

After crunching the numbers, we can reveal which retailers score highly for product quality, range and value for money. To see which retailers impressed in our latest shopping survey, head over to our extensive guide on the best and worst shops.

Watch out for sneaky Black Friday tricks

Some retailers use underhand tactics to pressure you into making a purchase.

These include anchor pricing (when products are on sale more often than they aren’t), pressure selling (’30 people are viewing this right now!’) and dubious claims about the ‘before’ price of a product.

If you’re unsure how good a deal is, use a tool such as PriceRunner to compare prices across retailers.

Our latest Black Friday deals investigation reveals that 99.5% of Black Friday deals are cheaper or the same price at other times of the year.

Research customer reviews

It’s always a good idea to read reviews before you buy a product, but not all reviews are trustworthy.

Some sellers incentivise people to post fake positive reviews to drown out genuine negative ones. If you’re in any doubt, check out our expert guide on how to spot a fake review.

Returning goods

Whether you bought a product in-store or online, you still have rights under the Consumer Contract Regulations.

The regulations give you a 14-day window to return a non-faulty product, which begins on the day you receive your goods. Many retailers will give you longer than this, but it is always best to check before you buy.

We’ve put together advice on the additional rights you have when shopping online in our online returns guide.
