What's Enterprise like?

Enterprise takes its name from the World War II aircraft carrier that its founder served on, and it’s fair to say that it lives up to its grand title with an excellent customer score of 80%.

Its response to the pandemic gives you some idea as to why this Which? Recommended Provider is rated so highly. Many of Enterprise's UK offices provide kerbside pickup, so there's no need to worry about social distancing during pickup - as one happy customer told us: 'the car was ready and they came out to hand over the key'.

The company's new rigorous cleaning protocols between rentals impressed in our survey - 90% of Which? members rated the cleanliness of their Enterprise car last year as good, or excellent.

Enterprise has also ditched its fees if you've paid in advance but have to change your plans due to Covid, or any other reason. For some bookings, there's no charge for cancellations and amendments right up to the collection date. And for the rest, you can cancel for free up to three days before pick-up.

It’s no wonder Enterprise shouts about its excellent customer service: it was awarded five out of five stars in this category. Only Enterprise and sister brand, Alamo, achieved this rating.

When you hire a car with Enterprise, you can also expect a five-star fleet of modern, clean and well-maintained cars. A number of customers commented that Enterprise's cars 'are always very new'.

Enterprise customers paid £38 a day, on average, for hire, which makes the brand relatively expensive. However, it still received a four-star rating for value for money. People who use the company clearly feel they get the honest, quality service they’ve paid for, with no hidden charges – just as it should be.

Should I book with Enterprise?

Enterprise may not be the cheapest, but, in the words of our survey respondents, it is 'dependable, straightforward and pragmatic, with excellent customer service.' And its Covid refund policy is first class. So our verdict is a confident thumbs up.
