Audley Travel’s escorted tours to exotic destinations are designed around personal taste – earning it an impressive customer score of 88% and second position in our table of escorted providers, alongside Trailfinders and Exodus. Its organisation and customer service also received high praise – from ‘super knowledgeable, professional and friendly’ hand-picked local guides to ‘excellent service and communication’ before, during and after a holiday. Its customers were impressed that nothing was ‘too much trouble’ for staff, who were ‘very ready to remedy any complaints’.
Accommodation also scored top marks, receiving five stars out of five, with one happy customer telling us: ‘The venues were ideal and surprising, as if Audley had read our minds. We were sorry that we hadn’t booked a longer holiday.’
Even when customers experienced problems, Audley Travel’s no-quibble approach meant travellers generally remained impressed with their trip. In one case, a customer experienced a transport strike on a trip to Peru and Chile. However, they described Audley as ‘faultless in sorting out problems which were not of their making’.
Of course, exclusive holidays come at an exclusive price, and at an average £258 a day for its long-haul breaks, there’s no denying trips are expensive. Many travellers are happy to pay the higher price, though, with one remarking that its trips are ‘not the cheapest but superb value for money’. Audley performed equally well for its self-guided holidays this year. However, if you’re on a tight budget, Trailfinders offers similar holidays and high levels of satisfaction at lower prices.
Yes. If you’re looking for a luxury experience and willing to pay the accompanying price, you can be confident that you’ll be well-looked after with Audley. Its skill and experience at organising specialist itineraries, matched by its excellent customer service, are the perfect ingredients for a dream holiday.
