Sheilas' Wheels entered the car insurance market in 2005, with policies primarily aimed at female drivers. However, it now sells to all drivers.
It's part of the Esure group, along with insurance brands Esure and First Alternative, and its policy is underwritten by Esure Insurance Ltd.
It will insure drivers between 19 and 90 years old.

Get a quoteWith a score of 67%, Sheilas' Wheels' policy is a Which? Best Buy.
Its score places it in the top fifth of the 76 (standard and non-standard) policies we analysed.
Areas in which it performed well include £5,000 personal accident cover as standard. This is a cash sum that's paid if you suffer a lifechanging injury as a result of a car accident. You'll also not lose your no-claims discount if you claim because your car has been vandalised.
It didn't do brilliantly across the board, though. An example of an area in which it fell short was low provision for personal belongings (£150), and just £100 cover to replace a damaged car seat.
Sheilas' Wheels' no-claims discount protection covers an unlimited number of claims per year.
Most car insurers offer no-claims discount protection (NCDP) for an extra charge. As the name suggests, this will shield your no-claims discount against some of your claims – reducing the effect claiming will have on your renewal price (though importantly, it won't stop claims from affecting your price altogether).
See how this compares with the best car insurance.
