Boots recalls hot water bottles

It says they pose potential scalding risk

Hot water bottles are being recalled over fears they could split and scald people.

The safety problem affects some Boots hot water bottles bought between October 2005 and January 2007.

Boots says it’s stopped selling the affected bottles and is also asking customers to return them.

The affected hot water bottles were all manufactured in 2005 and were coloured in cream, blue and red.

You can check to see if you have an affected hot water bottle by looking at the circle on the back of the neck of the bottle.

If the number moulded in the inner circle is 05, stop using the bottle and return it to your nearest Boots store where you’ll receive a replacement.

If the hot water bottle is inside a cover, you only need return the hot water bottle for an exchange as the cover isn’t affected.

Anyone with any queries should contact their local Boots store or call the Boots Customer Care Team on 0800 915 0740.
