LG 43UP77006LB – was £429, now £379 (12% off at Currys)

LG 43UP77006LB

We like: good speech clarity
We didn’t like: some colour issues in certain scenes

This 43-inch set is one of LG’s cheaper models, but a 4K TV from a leading brand for less than £400 is a rare thing.

Does the low price of this 43-inch TV mean it’s not one of the better models available?

Check our LG 43UP77006LB review or buy it now from Currys, John Lewis (includes a five-year guarantee) or AO.

LG 50UP78006LB – was £499, now £449 (10% off at Currys)

LG 50UP78006LB

We like: speakers are good for dialogue
We didn’t like: lower resolution scenes sometimes looked drab

It’s a good price for a 50-inch TV and, despite being one of LG’s more basic models, you get an excellent remote with a microphone to control the TV with your voice.

This model has a 60Hz screen, whereas more advanced TVs manage 120Hz. So bear this in mind if you’re a gamer – it doesn’t mean it will be bad at displaying games, but more high-end TVs will be better.

Read our LG 50UP78006LB review, or buy it now from Currys.

LG 50UP77006LB – was £599.99, now £449 (25% off at Currys)

LG 50UP77006LB

We like: HD picture with good detail, solid bass and clear dialogue
We didn’t like: 4K detail can be inconsistent

If you’re looking to spend less than £500 on a big-screen TV, the LG 50UP77006LB is a decent option. At £449, it’s the lowest price we’ve ever seen this model.

It has a 50-inch LCD display running at 4k resolution, and a bundled remote with built-in microphone, so you’ll be able to use voice commands to find shows on various video streaming apps.

With this LG, you can watch SD content through Freeview and satellite, or HD channels through an aerial or satellite.

Read our LG 50UP77006LB review, or buy it now on Currys or John Lewis (five-year guarantee included) or get it for £440 at Amazon.

LG OLED48C14LB

We like: HDR is used well
We didn’t like: some confusing menus

We like: vibrant colours, high level of detail, good sound
We didn’t like: newly designed operating system

This model is from one of LG’s most high-end ranges. The picture quality is fantastic thanks to the vibrant colours, and the sound quality is rich too.

At 20% off, this is a decent saving for this LG OLED TV, but you can get it for £4 less at Very.

Read our full LG OLED55C14LB review, or buy it now on Currys or Hughes or get it for £1,159 at Very.

LG OLED65B16LA -was £1,799, now £1,499 (17% off at Currys)

LG OLED65B16LA

We like: excellent remote
We didn’t like: SD could be brighter

This 65 inch TV from LG boasts a detail-packed picture, and the phenomenal contrast makes for fantastic viewing. But the SD could be a little brighter. It has a rich and luxurious sound to match the picture, and has all the features of a high-end TV. It also comes with a magic remote, making menu navigation quicker and easier.

Currys laptop deals

HP Chromebook x360 – was £349, now £279 (20% off at Currys)

HP Chromebook x360

We like: compact, versatile
We didn’t like: underwhelming screen, speakers and keyboard

The HP Chromebook x360 is a great buy if you’re looking for a small, versatile laptop for your child. However, if you have more specific demands like media editing or multi-tasking, then its dim screen, erratic touchpad and mediocre speakers might be off-putting.

As a compact (it’s only 12-inches, diagonally), cheap 2-in-1, it’s an OK choice in a market without many similar rivals. And at the reduced price of £279 (from £349) you can’t really go wrong.

Read our HP Chromebook x360 review, or buy it now from Currys.

Acer Chromebook Spin-513 – was £399, now £299 (25% off at Currys)

Samsung Galaxy Book Go LTE – was £399, now £349 (13% off at Currys)

Samsung Galaxy Book Go LTE

We like: portable, Sim card slot for mobile internet
We didn’t like: underwhelming sound and webcam

The Samsung Galaxy Book Go LTE is marketed to those who want to use a laptop on the go. And with its compact dimensions, this model seems to fit the bill. It has a Sim card slot, so if you buy one with a data plan you can hook it up to the internet when you’re away from a wi-fi router.

It has a 14-inch display with Full HD resolution and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 quad-core processor, coupled to a generous 8GB of Ram. It’s fine when handling basic office tasks and web browsing, but it’s not as snappy as rival models.

Have a look at our Samsung Galaxy Book Go Review to see if it meets your needs, or buy it now at Currys, John Lewis (including a three-year guarantee) or Very.

Asus Chromebook Flip C436FA

We like: quick charging, flip-around screen, light
We didn’t like: erratic touchpad, average battery life

While this isn’t the most generous offer we’ve seen, it’s the cheapest price we’re currently seeing for this Chromebook model.

The touch-sensitive screen can be flipped around, so it can be used as a tablet with the included stylus. Its speed and versatility make it great for everyday tasks, plus it is light making it easy to transport.

Read our full Asus Chromebook Flip C436FA review, or buy it now on Currys.

If you want to see how it fared in our test lab, read our Samsung Galaxy Book 15-Inch review, or buy it now at Currys.

We don’t like: speaker quality

This Samsung laptop features a unique screen hinge mechanism, allowing for it to be used as both a laptop and a tablet. As well as this, it’s thin and lightweight, making it ideal for travelling with.

We didn’t like: chunky design

We didn’t like: costly keyboard accessory

A rival for Apple’s iPad Pro range, the Tab S7 is a high-end tablet with a big screen – great if you’re after a device that can replace your laptop. But bear in mind you will need to buy the keyboard separately which will increase the total cost by a fair bit.  On the plus side, the S-Pen stylus does come as standard.

Read our full Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 review or buy it now from Currys, or Argos.

We like: fast, great screen, stylus supplied
We didn’t like: keyboard accessories can be pricey

The Galaxy Tab S7+ is the brands top-tier tablet from last year. It has a huge 12.4-inch screen, which makes it larger than some laptops and Samsung includes its S-Pen stylus with the tablet as standard (Apple charges extra for its own Pencil stylus).

It has a claimed internal storage capacity of 128GB but there’s a microSD card slot for expanding that if you need to. You should bear in mind there’s no headphone jack on this tablet, so if you have wired headphones you will need to buy a USB-C to headphone adaptor.

Bosch Tassimo Style TAS1102GB – was £79.99, now £29 (64% off at Currys)

Bosch Tassimo TAS1102GB

We like: compact, easy to clean
We didn’t like: pods are pricey

You aren’t just limited to coffee with this machine, as it also allows you to make tea and hot chocolate.

It’s worth bearing in mind that you have to use Tassimo T-discs to make your drinks. Pods like these are not the best for the environment as they’re tricky to recycle – a ground coffee machine is better in this respect. Plus you will be tied to using Tassimo pods, as there aren’t any others that are compatible.

You can save £50 on this model in the Currys Black Friday sale.

Currys sales shopping tips

While it can be tempting to hit that ‘buy’ button before these deals vanish, it’s important to make sure the price you’re getting is as cheap as it’s going to get.

To help you improve your chances at grabbing a genuinely good deal this Black Friday and Cyber Monday, consider our expert buying tips.

Stay glued to Which?

As Currys publishes new deals to its website over the winter sales season, we’ll be digging out the best offers and letting you know if we spot any duds.

It’s not just Currys we’re keeping an expert eye on, either. Our team of product experts will be working extra hard to bring you the very best deals from Argos, Amazon and John Lewis & Partners.

Know how to spot a good deal

With retailers all competing to get your attention this month, many will make claims that they’ve got the best deals on offer. But remember that even if there appears to be a big price drop on a product, it might not be at its lowest-ever price.

There are a couple of price-tracking websites that help you see if a product has ever been on sale for less than its current price. PriceSpy covers a range of online retailers, including Currys. If you’re shopping on Amazon, you can use CamelCamelCamel to track price history. There’s also PriceHistory.co.uk that focuses on Argos discounts.

How to return Currys items

If you buy a product from Currys during the sales and it is faulty or damaged, the retailer is fully responsible.

According to the Consumer Rights Act, your purchase needs to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If the product doesn’t meet one of these requirements, the retailer (not the manufacturer) is at fault.

But even if your purchase isn’t damaged or faulty, you can still return it under the Currys returns policy for unwanted items. For online purchases, you have 14 days to return them (even if you’ve opened the product for inspection). For in-store purchases, you can return them within 21 days in their unopened and sealed packaging. Head here for the Currys returns and refunds page.

For more on online returns, faulty goods rights and store returns policies, see our Consumer Rights guide: I want to return my goods, what are my rights?

How to recycle your old tech

Whether you want to get rid of an old phone or a broken kettle, it’s important to make sure you dispose of your electronics correctly and in a way that isn’t detrimental to the environment.

Depending on the type of product and the condition it’s in, you should be able to donate it, sell it on, or drop it off to be recycled and repurposed into something new.

For more on the different ways to part with your unwanted tech, see our expert guide on how to recycle electrical items.
