Jigsaws help you cut curved and straight lines through wood, ceramics and other materials. But how do you know which brand to buy?

To guide you to the best jigsaw brands and help you avoid the worst, we asked more than 1,000 Which? members to rate the biggest brands on factors such as reliability, value for money and build quality. We've compiled the results in the table below, revealing the top and bottom-scoring brands out of Black & Decker, Bosch, DeWalt, Makita, Performance Power (B&Q's own brand), Ryobi and Wickes.

We uncovered big differences between the brands -  overall customer scores range from 49% to 84%.
