As the name suggests, it’s an air fryer specifically designed for cooking pizza, although that isn’t all it does. Tefal claims its Extra-Crisp technology and double heaters ‘ensure crispy results in no time’.

There are digital controls for adjusting time, temperature and other settings. There are 10 pre-set programs to choose from: Fries, Nuggets, Chicken drumsticks, Fish, Vegetables, Cookies, Bacon/Beef bacon, Dehydration, Frozen pizza and Fresh pizza. You can also set your own time and temperature if you prefer.

The Lenovo 13-inch IdeaPad Slim 5 (Gen 10) is a 13.3-inch Windows 11 laptop with a sleek design. That's remarkably light, relative to other 13-inch laptops we've tested.

Back when we tested it, this laptop's engine room comprised of an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8GB Ram and 256GB solid-state drive SSD storage. However, it's now available with double the Ram (16GB Ram) and storage (512GB) as standard. The even beefier 1TB version with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor is also on sale - it's available directly from Lenovo for £499.

This 11-inch tablet from Samsung was £899 at launch. It has an eight-core processor with a maximum speed of 3.36GHz, which is seriously powerful. This is backed up with 8GB of Ram – standard for a tablet at this price. 

The model we tested has a 128GB drive, which drops to 99GB when you factor in the operating system and built-in apps, but this model is the more expensive 256GB option. You can add extra storage with a micro-SD card, too.

It’s around 2 to 3cm thinner and 20 to 30g lighter than most smartphones we’ve tested, making it a great choice for those wanting something less bulky to carry in their pocket.

It runs off the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which packs a hefty 12GB of Ram. The huge 200Mp main lens, 12Mp wide lens and 12Mp front camera all come with an autofocus feature.

Currently available at a very low price from LaptopsDirect, down from £1,099.

This full-sized dishwasher from Bosch has space for 14 place settings, so it's suitable for a medium to large household. It has seven programs including main, eco and fast, along with intensive for very dirty pans.

The start time of any cycle can be delayed in one-hour increments up to 24 hours ahead. Or, if you select the ‘remote start’ mode and download the Home Connect app to your phone, you can remotely start any cycle from the app (as long as the machine is already loaded).

This LG washing machine has smart capability and can be controlled using the LG ThinQ app on a smartphone or via Google Home Assistant. The app allows you to download additional programs, save your favourite settings and monitor the machine’s energy use. 

LG says this washer uses six different drum motions to clean and care for your fabrics, and load sensors automatically tailor the programs according to how much laundry is inside the drum. Notable programs include a tub clean option to keep the machine fresh, and a downloadable steam setting that aims to remove allergens and bacteria as well as reduce creases.

One of the fridge shelves can be adjusted for height, and there’s a bottle shelf for your wine or soft drinks. The freezer has three drawers and an easy access tray at the top – ideal for storing any frozen treats you may want to grab in a hurry.

We tested the black version (RB327N4BBE), but it’s also available in white (RB327N4BWE) and stainless steel (RB327N4BCE). The doors can be reversed to help it fit into the available space in your kitchen.

This mattress has been in the Silentnight range for a few years, but it's still popular. Featuring a combination of pocket springs and a layer of gel on the top, it should provide the best of both.

It's rated 'cold' to lie on, so it won't trap heat around you, ideal if you tend to sweat in bed or suffer with hot flushes. And there's not much of a memory effect, from the foam layers, either. 

Also known as the Just Bliss, when sold directly from Silentnight, this Studio Gel version is often on offer - we've spotted it in the Black Friday sales before and it's currently at a decent price from Amazon, which is why we've made it Our Pick. There's no trial nights offer via Amazon, though.

When do the Black Friday sales start?

Currys and John Lewis have already kicked off their sales. 

The Black Friday sales seem to start earlier and earlier each year, with many retailers discounting products throughout November.

This year, Black Friday falls on 28 November, and Cyber Monday is on 1 December. This is slightly earlier than in 2024, when Black Friday was on 29 November and Cyber Monday on 2 December.

That means the retailers' sales will last a whole month, so there's plenty of time to shop and avoid panic buying.

Watch out for sneaky Black Friday tricks

Some retailers use underhanded tactics to pressure you into making a purchase.

These include anchor pricing (when products are on sale more often than they aren't), pressure selling ('30 people are viewing this right now!') and dubious claims about the 'before' price of a product.

If you're unsure how good a deal is, use a tool such as PriceRunner to compare prices across retailers.

The way in which Black Friday deals are presented varies significantly between shops, and learning to decode the language of deals can help you to understand more about the savings you may (or may not) be getting.

Check customer reviews

It's always a good idea to read reviews before you buy a product, but not all reviews are trustworthy. Some sellers incentivise people to post fake positive reviews to drown out genuine negative ones.

Returning goods

Whether you bought a product in-store or online, you still have rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

The regulations give you a 14-day window to return a non-faulty product, starting from the day you receive your goods. Many retailers will give you longer than this, but it's always best to check before you buy.
